In This video episode we start the video in a storm after waking up from a night's sleep in the Cog ship. We manage to navigate ourselves through the stormy weather even though the square sails make such environments much harder.
We continue our voyage south in the Cog towards Happy Bay. Sailing mostly against the wind we have to be very carful with how we angle the square sail so as not to tip over and capsize. We have mostly have clear skies after the initial storm and have no land in sight in any direction. Mount Malefic behind us, a distant memory. We have some fish, water and save the rum to celebrate later if and when we eventually see land. Not yet however. We still have many days and nights at sea ahead of us.
We ended up having a cooking disaster and burn two eels and 2 black fin hunters while we were asleep. We are hungry and have to quickly fish to feed ourselves and survive. What fish do we catch? No less than a blue shimmertail! The fish that we love so much! It cooks fast and is very nutritious and filling!
It is a very good omen because after the next night's sleep we wake up and the sea has turned emerald green!
Now all we need to do is use the chromometer along with the sundial compass to determine our grid reference on the map or sea chart.
We are starting to get to grips with the square sails of the Cog ship.
Sailing upwind with the square sailed cog remains very challenging
One day we'll get the brig, so we better be ready!
That might take quite a bit of gold!
But really, check out the glorious sunrise and sunsets in Sailwind, for it is indeed a beautiful and immersive game!

This is the pluckiest voyage ever and we are all loving it. Congratulations on reaching the green water, with clear enough skies! You do need to work out your position asap before sailing SE any further, as you are probably already SE of Happy Bay. Bon voyage!

Yes! You are right! We are either in line with Happy Bay east or west or slightly below it. Still need to record the next episode. The priority is not missing that sundial at midday! :D Thank you for your comment and support!

Nice going! It's always good to see the water turn green, and I'm always sad to leave and have it turn grey/blue again.

The green water IS very pretty! I like the blue too though, a change is nice. The North is more of a greyish blue though, right? Like you said. Not as much as a fan of that one too! :D I'd love to see some bioluminescence in the game! I've seen some in RL at they had me staring for ages!

Thank you! If we find the island of Happy Bay, a place I've not been to before, we'll stop there and unload the mission cargo before picking up some more and continuing South to Dragon Cliffs where the capital city of the region is. Still some way to go!

you deserve more subs mate, really great energy. I've got a 30ft sailboat myself in the Essex area, she's called pangolin, as I live in Middlesbrough I don't really get to see her much. your videos and this game do a great job at channelling the cathartic peaceful feeling that sailing provides, along with the surprising uprising of chaos. a battle of extremes that make you feel alive. I subbed today, keep going! :)

Check the wiki, there is a way to get a rough idea how far east or west you are by using the north star tool on a star that appears near the setting sun. It's not exact, but I've used it pretty successfully, and honestly prefer it.
