The middle sail is best as you have all the controls to raise and lower the sail and alter its angle. Plus, it is neutral to your boat, so your rudder should stay about centre. This place is not good for night sailing (:. Proberly could have cooked that meat would have filled you up.

Ahahaha, at least the junk can drop its sails fast like a handbrake! Which you should probably do BEFORE jumping overboard. Especially before I learned the art of wine bottle navigation, I would carry two quadrants and two fishing rods on ocean voyages specifically in case I dropped one overboard. Which I did, many times. This has not happened since I started just filling the boat with individual food items from markets before big trips and stopped fiddling with the quadrant/sun compass anywhere near as much. Enjoy the loveliest isles of all of lovely Sailwind!

@@PorthosUK There's nothing easy about wine bottle navigation, except that once you figure it out you can navigate much better in game and irl. You set off with no navigational instruments other than a wine bottle, not even a compass. You tell your direction by the sun and the north star. To work out your approximate latitude, hold the bottle up to the horizon next to the north star. Line the bottom up with the horizon. The further up the side of the bottle the north star appears, the higher your latitude. At DC and GRC the north star reaches approximately up to the top of the bottle's label. HB is just below the shoulder, and requires some getting used to where exactly it should appear. SPOILER is around the shoulder and should not be attempted ever. Aestrin is right at the cork. Teaching yourself how to navigate with such a primitive instrument will make the game much easier once you get the hang of it, but only because you've got very good at reading the sky and the winds, guesstimating your progress and figuring out what to do when you inevitably get lost. It allows you to sell the compass at the beginning for around the price of a barrel of water, which doesn't sound like much and isn't.

@@PorthosUK It's an essential tool to have on hand as a backup, and actually easier to read than the quadrant in rough seas once you get the hang of it. As a wine bottle is almost exactly 30 cm/1 foot long, you can also use them to measure things. I always keep one in my inventory, mainly to drink wine or rum out of. I must resist the temptation to do this irl.

Honestly, I find the Junk... junk. It's cool and all, and has a bonus points for speed, maneuverability and style. But Deep sea wise she can easily take on water, so prepare to see a lot of water inside. But it's good to play with every ship and find the best that suits you. I personally LOVE the Sanbuq for it's jack of all traits playstyle. It's not the fastest, most maneuverable or can carry the most, but it does everything well. Also always happy to see you upload Sailwind, Porthos you're my fave youtuber playing this gem of a game.

1:14 -- RE: "We got some Long Ropes!"; A: Yep, I noticed this bug-feature back when the adjustable mooring lines were introduced. If a Ship is tied up and you sail away from it, when you return its ropes will get longer according to Wind conditions. Its worse with larger ships. Best solution I know is to routinely check the mooring lines on nearby ships as soon as the current ship is tied up. Normally, taking them off entirely and repositioning to a closer bollard is faster than trying to winch the ship back to the old spot on the dock, though.
