New chickens for the farm - these ladies are only 15 months old, but would otherwise be slaughtered. If you are thinking of getting chickens this is a great way to give some hard working girls a new life.

We took on some hens from fresh start too last week. We were taken away quite how regularly they are laying. A week on and their feathers are starting to return, they are bright and happy. Well done for supporting a great cause!

I would recommend to get these bands that come in different colours and you can clip them on there ankle and it will make it a load easier to identify them❤

My birds have them. I would wait for Esme to get them when the chicken are a bit older because she can put those bands on and as they grow the band on their legs can get titer I would suggest when they are a year old is a good idea! Xxxx That's a good suggestion though.

Name suggestion: If there are two that stick together, you could name one Reese's, and another one Pieces! Like the peanutbutter cups! (im not sure if those are a thing in the UK, but they are really popular in the US)

Aww those chickens are so cute, I’m glad they can have a great life with you and Mars now! For names you could mane them after their personalities, my chickens had names like Disco Diva and Green Eyes. PS chickens love scrambled eggs, and they are a great source of protein for them when they are moulting! 🐓 ❤

I had 3 rescue chickens, got them last February when cagged eggs were phased out. Sadly 1 passed away this past December but my other 2 are happy free rangers + 5 newbies. I also have an omlet coop and fences too, best investment ever.

Aww so cute! Mars’ new sister’s could be called other planets as Mars is a planet too. OR they could be named after gods and goddesses because Mars is a god too!! Love the Chanel Esme! You could name them after flowers, daisy, sunflower/sunny etc :) Also, you could put some more bedding in their home, and hay where they lay eggs, but that's optional

Oyster shells gives the chickens extra calcium which will prevent them from getting egg bound and makes their eggs have stronger shells
