I restored a BROKEN chair from the garbage

In this video a broken chair is restored from the garbage and gets a new upholstery. All connections are loosened, the old paint is removed, everything is re-glued, the chair gets a new surface and a new upholstery.

Thank you for showing a restoration that is not a dark shade. I know it is popular but I prefer the lighter shades. They look very nice, too.

But, between us I'm absolutely horrible at choosing fabric/paint color/tone/shade from a shelf/shop. I depend on more talented, creative folk like you and the lady whose chair it is to show more diverse/creative/appropriate/enhancing amendments. I would never have chosen the bold, big, lavish-looking fabric. Something plainer for me...borrrrrring🙂🙃😊😒

Wieder tolles Ergebnis. Man konnte sich vorher kaum vorstellen, wie das naturbelassene Holz den Gesamteindruck verändert. Der Polsterstoff hat den Stuhl in einen modernen Zustand geholt. Als typischer Küchenstuhl hatte man früher dafür waschbare lose Kissen, die hinten angebunden werden. Aufgepolstert passt er nun ins Wohnzimmer. 👍👍👍👍👍

Wow! Ganz tolle Videos! Ich habe jetzt bestimmt 7 Videos hintereinander angeschaut! Ich bin begeistert! Besonders von den Stühlen! Ich habe einen sehr alten Stuhl meines Uropas aus Ungarn, der auch restauriert werden müsste. Ich habe solche Lust bekommen dies in Angriff zu nehmen! Deine Videos machen so Lust auf selbst loslegen! Ich liebe es auch zu reparieren, bisher nur mit Nadel und Faden. Herzliche Grüße Liane

Schönes Video, Chris. Nicht schlecht der Stuhl. Klasse Idee mit den Dampfreiniger, weil der Dampf wird vom Holz aufgesogen und quillt auf. Und die Hitze löst den Leim an. 🤭 Hm, ich weis nicht ob du das kennst von früher, einen Wäschekessel. Das war ein Kupferkessel der eingemauert war, oben kam Wasser rein und unten hat man mit Kohle geheizt. Da wurde früher die Wäsche drin gekocht. So ein Teil brauchst du, dann kannst du deine Holzprojekte, die Du zerlegen möchtest dadrauf legen und unten lässt du das Wasser kochen? 🤔😆 Aua, das tat mir gerade weh, wo du mit dem Teppichmesser auf der Hobelbank die Pappe geschnitten hast. 😮 Womit hast Du den Schaumstoff geschnitten? Schöne Restwoche gewünscht.

Danke für die Antwort. Aha, das ist auch eine Möglichkeit. Ich habe mir ein Sägeblatt von einer Stichsäge um geschliffen, damit habe ich 4cm Schaumstoff geschnitten. Hat super geklappt. 😁

Two things I thought were interesting were, you didn't stain the chair or seal it other than with the bees wax. Second that you didn't secure the chair bottom to the frame. It surely looked snug but not secure. Other than that and especially no nails it was a good job. Thanks for sharing

Thanks. I used the Höler, which can no longer slip. It is now like an insert frame. No risk of accidents. Greetings

Why do some people think it's a good idea to paint over such beautiful wood instead of adding, like you did, a bit of beeswax to enhance it? That cover is also something else taking the restoration to the next level.

*Sehr schöne Restauration. Ich sehe deine Videos sehr gerne* Ich habe sogar die Glocke an. Und die englische Sprache ist echt blöd knifflig. (Connections SOLVED ist eigeltich falsch und doch nicht .. Solved beschreibt die LÖSUNG ähnlich "Problem gelöst") . Ein Solvent ist zwar ein Lösungsmittel aber "Solved" ist ein sehr schwimmendes Wort. Wie das deutsche Schloss - eines hält die Tür zu und das andere steht oben auf dem Berg. Das selbe Wort - zwei Dinge.

Le sedie non si incollano così si assembla prima la parte anteriore e posteriore separatamente poi in un secondo tempo si uniscono le traverse non lo dico per dire sono falegname
