One of the terms of surrender of the last Granadan Emir was that Aragon+Castile would not persecute and would respect the rights of the local Muslim and Jewish population after they took control of Granada. Very soon after the Emir left Iberia, the Spaniards started the persecution and eventual exile of Muslims and Jews in the Iberian peninsula. Might really does make right.

My first proper campaign was as the ottomans. By 1750 i conquered all the necessairy provinces but i didn't have the dlc yet so i couldn't form the caliphate.

Pay special attention to what he does to win wars quickly and what he does to manage Aggressive Expansion. Managing AE properly is the #1 thing you can do to make your conquests much faster and of course winning wars quickly helps a lot too.

Because of you I gained enough encouragement to start playing EU4 after a failed tutorial run... now 60+ hours playing as Castile (from your previous Castile video) and I managed to colonise whole of Brazil and conquer Tunis, Morocco and Mamluks (what was left of them). Thank you Ludi!

I played 1.4k hours yet to play as ottomans. I have done everything to stop expanding of ottomans. Played as Venice, Genoa, Georgia, Ethiopia, Byzantines, Naples, Theodoro, Moldavia, Crimea, Hungary,etc. It used to be much more harder to dismantle ottomans back in the day before you had easy mercenary system and estate systems. I still take pleasure in picking them apart

ey Ludi, I love your guides man, I am playing this game for years aswell and I love it...But I wanna add my small input to it. Lately I noticed that u are doing "guides" etc of things that idk if THAT many players are interested in...While first and foremost EU IV is a wargame, people like me are trying different things out at this point probably, like going tall, doing stupid stuff etc instead of just blobbing like crazy...with that being said, you are a super funny guy with a good sense of humor, I would love to see more guides like tall Holland or tall Tuscany or Milan or Portugal carribean into pirate totemic pirate republic (preferably without blobbing) :) . I enjoy your videos and keep them coming plz but take into account that not everyone wants to paint the map their color, sometimes being small and bullying everyone around you is more fun aka being an economic powerhouse thats barely visible...would love to see more of these ideas please

Hey Ludi, thanks so much for that advice about how a core isn't enough it also has to have the primary culture! I'd been pissed at a previous game of mine where I (as Korea) had basicaly all of Asia, and Europe, which hadn't had player "interference" had gained a super large Ottomans/Commonwealth/Russia, but that same large Russia had slowly died to Commonwealth (really big ai commonwealth actually. It also got PU on the Denmark-scandinavia holdings and integrated too). Was stoked to get reconquest on, like, the entirety of the modern European Russia landmass, but none of the cores by the Urals would let me release Russia :( On closer inspection after this advice I realised that the culture in that whole area of (Ural area) Russian cores was actually Bashkirian culture (that small tag from around the Ural goldmine had been released and gotten quite large before I appeared and had also started colonising the urals). Anyway, thaks for enlightening about something I cursed as being a stupid bug.

The Ottomans are so much fun in the 1400s - abSURDly front-loaded to the point that by the time they start "declining" around 1600, it's too late for the rest of the world. But man, you took it to another level. Thoroughly enjoyable to watch!

The Ottomans were tolerant of minorities living within their empire. It was the young Turks who really pushed tor a homogenous state.

This is sweet, one thing I would add onto it is the new estate that lets you pick Muslim schools without diplomatic ties. Pair the aggressive expansion one with the age of discovery bonus and you can basically eat whatever you want without fear of coalitions.

It doesn't have to be the primary culture, it has to be the same culture group. You can release Gascony from one of their Occitan cores, for example.

Can you still do that exact opening regarding the estates, deving up Selanik, then selling lands or have they changed that as of patch 1.33? I tried doing it, but the game tells me I need atleast 10% crownland to do it.

yes. 1.33. changed the sell titles. now you actually need 10% not 0.1% i think you can still do it, you just take loans instead and pay them off with enemy money after war
