I am Georgian, and I do admit, that our language is not that easy to learn (because of the majority of the verbs being irregular and some letters which are very difficult to pronounce), so good job, really and it's an honor. We are not big nation or well known, so this effort from your part is really honoring and beautiful.

@nin What are you talking about really, georgian is considered as one of the top hardest language to learn, dont need to talk much sbout how hard is it or why. And btw your georgian is very lovely. As georgian I had pleasure to listen.

There was so much of possitive energy in this video... that I want to sit down and learn some more italian or german, insted of going to bed. Your friend is right: there are not many crazy people in the world who could devote their free time just to learn foreign language just to please a friend. It is great.

As a German native speaker who's learning Georgian this was a really fun video to watch! I loved her reaction as well, it must be such a great and rewarding feeling when you can talk to a foreign friend in their native language and they seem to understand you well. I think her reaction was completely appropriate! You both are a couple of treasures. Along with most Native American languages, Georgian is one of the very few languages that kind of scares the crap out of me, respect for taking it on!

I can't find a better reason to learn a language. It must be very rewarding for you to get that feedback from a good friend of yours. I can't speak Georgian (I'd wish to as I am a language freak as any other language in the world) but it certainly has to be difficult. Keep it up and good luck.

Lieber Stefano, Es ist einfach unglaublich und überweltigend, wie du sprichst. Ich kenne sehr wenige, die annährend so gut sprechen. Ich habe die ganze Zeit Gänsehaut gehabt. Hast eka echt glücklich gemacht. Ich hoffe, dass wir auch in der Zeit in Georgien sind, wenn ihr Urlaub macht und mich unter vier Augen von deinem Georgisch begeeitern lasse. Jetzt fällt nur noch Tschatscha (ჭაჭა), georgischer Grappa, und dann bist du Waschechter Georgier 😂😂😂😘😘

Hey Stefano! This is great! It's probably the best video of this kind that I've seen - there are some others getting around like "I revealed to my Spanish teacher that I was fluent..." etc. but they're all fairly boring and predictable. This is not at all like that. Have you asked her if she actually realised you were speaking Georgian? Because I have sometimes been asked things in English, in the middle of a Swedish speaking "session", and I've just answered in Swedish because when I understand both at a high level, I don't even notice if it's just a few words... I just sort of assume that it is Swedish and it's only afterwards that I think "Oh hang on they asked me that in English..."

That is a very interesting question, I will definitely ask her (let me do it right now, before I forget :D ) - I'll keep you posted. I know what you mean, by the way, because something similar has happened to me many times too: only remembering the content of a conversation I've had but not recalling what language I've used or heard. Pretty telling of what's ultimately important for our brains, right? The message, rather than the communication tool we use.

I asked her and she confirmed that my impression was correct: she thought I had just remembered that as a set phrase and she was afraid I wouldn't understand the answer in Georgian. She also stated that it's not easy for her to use Georgian with me after 20 years of German, and I totally understand her :) Over the last few weeks we've been chatting almost excusively in Georgian though - yay! :))

Ti ho scoperto l'altro giorno nella diretta di Liga Romanica come poliglotta e mi hai incuriosito perchè hai imparato il georgiano, lingua che mi ha sempre affascinato in quanto ergativa, concetto difficile da capire, sulla carta, perchè assomiglia alla nostra costruzione passiva, ma tu ci sei riuscito: bravo!

This is awesome! I'm from Greece and I'm trying to learn Georgian to surprise my boyfriend (he's from Georgia but he lives in Greece) and i have to say its a pretty hard language to learn:( Its a struggle to pronounce some letters (such as "ყ") and I'm gonna need any help i can get, so if you're from Georgia and you got some tips for me I'll be happy to hear them😊

Ich habe nicht gesehen, daß es gibt Untertitel, also weil deutsch ist nicht meine Muttersprache, ich war ein bisschen überrascht zu sehen, daß ich verstehe fast alles das du hast auf deutsch gesagt. Aber die Untertitel war ganz hilreich für georgisch, weil ich spreche kein georgisch. Thanks for the videos! I stumbled across one of them today when searching for something to motivate me to learn a bit more Finnish, koska en puhu paljon suomea. Olet erittäin informatiivinen. I've also learned a bit of Spanish, but I'm nowhere near fluent; most of what I have learned is from signs in the kitchen where I work, such as 'Nunca lqve o rehuse guantes desechalbes'. Perhaps I can find something on your channel to help me learn more Spanish so I can communicate better with both of my Spanish-speaking friends.

Hello Stefano! I'm currently learning italian (1 month now). My question is: how do you start learning it? I get so much information at once, that I cant remeber words anymore. Its more that it's very difficult to start for me, because there are so much words. I know that I need to start with the basics but still, I'm 1 month in now and I know the basics. I just get to much information about words that my brain always explodes. And also a quick question: how much time do you spend with learning languages a day?

Hi Jens, there are so many resources out there nowadays that it has become a problem to manage all that information at once. You need to choose ONE textbook or similar as your main resource and follow that. You can obviously integrate with other resources such as a couple of YT channels and one podcast, but definitely do not overdo it, especially in the first months. You kinda have to keep your curiosity down or you'll get overwhelmed :)

@@linguaEpassione when foreigners learn even little phrases its a big deal for us. If one of my foreign friends learned Georgian to your level all of a sudden, I wouldn't know what to do with myself. Anyways, very well done indeed, Georgian is a chaotic language, your effort speaks of impressive ability as well as impressive character.
