Grazie! Ei voi sanoa muuta kuin että olet Suomalainen! Ei voi kuulla että murtaisit. Nuorena opettelin Italiaa ennen kuin lähdin sinne lomille, jotenki tykkäsin että Italian kieli oli kaunis, (tykkään vieläkin) ja helppo oppia, ikävä kyllä on unohtunut näin vuosikymmenien jälkeen CIAO ❤

I'm curious if while learning it, have you found any help from knowing Italian. Personally, I think they are much more related than people think, for example, I am learning Italian at the moment, and due to the similarities it has to Romanian it's much easier to learn it than other languages (here I am speaking primarily about German, which I am also trying to learn for some time now) and even other Romance languages such as French for example (which I have also "studied" for some time, but was a much more difficult process than learning Italian).

Watching your video this morning Stefano made this idea/ analogy come to mind. When things are not going well could be expressed as trying to push two north magnet ends together. Try as you may, it just doesn't click but when things do fall into place is when the south and north crash together !

In spagnolo c'è anche la doppia enne quando si fa per esempio "innecesario", "innegable", ecc. Anche la doppia ci quando nelle parole "acceder", "accidente", un con suono kappa, l'altra con suono "ci+e/ ci+i".

What do you recommend to do if I have a beginner resource with text + audio? Should I try to read first, then listen or the other way around? Or something else entirely?

Your pronounciation is absolutely spot on. This is something many foreigners don't ever get right, even if their grammar is correct.

It must be pretty cool to see a foreigner speak your native language when most of the world doesn't know very much about it or Finland as a country, when it can be a very difficult language to learn, and when it has nowhere near the number of speakers, native and non-native combined as, say, Spanish.

Hello from Russia. In such funny times as today, it is especially interesting to learn about the life of people in Finland. And at the same time, I want to attract interest in the history of this country, since I collect coins of the Principality of Finland, when the country was part of the Russian Empire until 1917. I will be glad to hear your opinions under my new video on this topic, and I would like to find like-minded people on the topic from Finland, to see the antique shops of this country. I will be glad!

My suspicion is, or somewhat "obvious", jääkiekkoluistimet becoming hokkarit, the community adopted the english word hockey and then "made it Finnish" somewhat. Futis, sounds like it's coming from football :D

I have also noticed that the italian language is the only one with the verb essere ( to be), which uses the auxiliary verb essere, exemple io sono stato. While the french language with the verb être (to be) uses the auxiliary verb avoir (to have).

Ciao Stefano! I found your channel here totally by accident, what a positive and good-energy-transmitter you are! :) I've been learning Spanish for almost 4 months now, what a crazy journey - as I communicate quite well in Italian I was imagining it would be a piece of cake, and in fact I am confused with vocabulary and pronunciation as I'd never expected ;) Grazie per tutti i consigli che mi sembrano cosi' familiari, sebbene sia molto utile ascoltarli di nuovo e non preoccuparmi di piu' se l'pprendimento ogni tanto rallenta un po' oppure non noto i progressi abbastanza soddisfacenti...

Hi Stefano! Wow, excellent examples! You master Finnish very well. As a native Finn, I'm really impressed! Here are some Finnish “tongue twisters”, that even some native Finns find difficult. 1) As far as I know, the longest Finnish word: “Epäjärjestelmällistyttämättömyydellänsäkään”. 2) Yksikseskös yskiskelet, itsekseskös itkeskelet? Take a challenge!
