So basically someone else came by and offered the full price or more and took the bigger room - and they were fine to bump you out of a reservation but would not let you out of the deposit...got it. You're right to say find multiple people and look for yourself, bc not all realtors have the same access nor will they have the same pricing. That all said happy to hear you got the bigger room and at an even better price. The $400 loss is a learning experience and if you think about it, it's like paying just slightly more then 17k for the apartment you really wanted after spreading that money over the year :)

What happened was yes the bigger room fell thru but then i had my deposit moved down to a smaller room for 15k that i ended up not taking anymore because i wanted a bigger room. So kinda my fault i jumped the gun

It is absolutely good information and good advice. With some luck I will be looking around the Sukhumvit 22 - Sukhumvit 63 area for a condo for 2 people in the next few months, so I've been watching your hunt not for where you're looking but the challenges you're facing. You know that Thailand is what we Westerners could consider "chaotic" but there is indeed some pattern to it all, and you have to keep your guard up and your wits about you doing everything there. It is part of what makes living there exciting and invigorating - you're treated like an adult and you feel every consequence without some big government daddy to go whinging to if something doesn't go your way. I like that.

@@YujinVasquez ya man there’s a way better life outside the American sandbox … I grew up in the Middle East and Africa and Europe but very much conditioned with the African and Arabic cultural way … I don’t have good things to say about my experiences in America all I’ll say is if I had to recommend a list of countries to live in …America would be last on the list .. this place in my eyes is only good to come and create your dream but once you have created it ..i advise leaving to vote with your wallet elsewhere in better lands with more life in them and people who see you like family the first day you meet them ….all my friends over seas that I grew up with in schools I’ve known close to 20 years some over a decade …. friendships here in the US I’ve gone through them like 9-5 jobs that come and go it’s crazy this place honestly makes no sense it’s a circus 🎪 sometimes I think something is wrong with me but then I talk to my friends overseas who have lived here or one of them that lives here in another state and they all say the same thing …it all just confirms my thoughts and opinions on this place it’s not a place to grow roots and it’s getting much worse now one of my best friends in Thailand says there’s a lot of westerners there trying to escape the west … I see migration in mass in the future with who ever has enough to leave they will leave other will take the risk of leaving with not much money just to get away and or become an English teacher or whatever other countries are offering for foreigners elsewhere which is an emerging trend now

@@Takumawakanda there are many places in the world where you can live on less than 1000 dollars a month easily. how can I say this you ask? because 70% of the people in the world make less than 1000 usa dollars a month. 85% of the people in the world make less than 1500 usa dollars a month. don't believe me? google it. I hear from others that you can live in the caribbean for less than 2000 usa dollars a year. don't know if it is true. but wouldn't doubt it. here in southeast asia where I currently live, many people make less than 500 dollars a month. just go check out which one you will feel comfortable living in.

I have since given up my place in bangkok. and am now looking at maintaining a place in vietnam or the PI. variety is spice of life. and get this, you can do on a monthly budget of less than a 1500 dollars a month EASY. living the dream.

After your 1st choice was unavailable, did you sign a contract to move your deposit to a smaller room? If, not, than your deposit is refundable!!!! Also, don’t trust Thailand “sales people”. They are un- licensed and there is no formal training like Realtors in the West. I think the sales lady meant to switch you back to the smaller unit all along, it’s an old trick once they get your money!!! Thailand does have a department which accepts complaints about bad real estate sales people, if needed.

bangkok is full of low cost rental apartments that will run you about 100 to 200 dollars a month to rent. this is where the locals usually live. they are not as fancy as the ones people are showing on youtube. but they are ok. clean and simple. and since you don't plan on staying forever... something to consider. in khaosan road, they even have hostels as low as 2 dollars a day.

You mean well and provide some good personal perspective but comparing Bangkok to New York City in the fashion you did is wildly misleading to people who don’t know to look at the numbers and criticizing people that are watching your videos using a flawed logic as such is not a good look the emotion was real and I can rock with that ( and I’m assuming you’re not super scripted ) but yeh that math ain’t mathin
