I spend $50 to make this motorized scooter trike

this is a homemade, stand-up, motorized trike! first of its kind! In this video I used an old bed frame to make a motorized gas powered trike! It's a lot of fun to drive around in. I also used the front end of a kids quad to make the steering and give the motor scooter a little bit of suspension! be sure to check out the rest of the channel for other cool builds such as mini bikes, go karts, gas scooters, motorized bikes, motorcycles and even some alternative energy stuff!

Your humor is not lost on myself and the absence of gesticulation is also appreciated! Bed frames are a great resource once you figure out their strengths. They make for great shelving/racks and all kinds of stuff! I am wealthy with bed frames 😉😁 this build is motivating me to do something like it with a seat for my 58 year-old derriere.

Exactly! only problem was it had a thick coat of paint so it was annoying to grind then weld.

Cool project! I built rails to go go on my trailer I haul golf carts and riding mower on! Great cheap material. Who would have thought we could do so much with bed frames that readily found in peoples waste curbside!! Keep up the great work!!

You can stop the frame from twisting by boxing it. I built a bicycle from open channel, and it twisted probably 20 degrees in 5 feet, until I welded it shut. After that, very little twist!

You generally can't weld bed frame angle iron. It's brittle as hell and breaks after welding.

I've been building a "model t" rat rod gokart using bed frames, but I'll have brakes, good steering, better stability, and a place to sit, mine may be a bit faster when done too, but not a bad build you have done. Biggest difference is you may be able to get yours street legal.

In the past I've noticed the metal used in bed frames to be kind of shitty. Wouldn't weld very nicely. Still use it tho

I found 2 out of 3 projects from bedframe was VERY hard on drill bits. There are techniques for reducing the temper precisely where you plan to drill, but it requires a drill press. I plan to avoid bed frames for my push trailers from now on.
