Hey everyone! today is a new project where we put a Lifan 125cc engine on a trike I got of facebook marketplace! the frame of the trike was completely aluminum, and my dumb arse doesn't know how to weld aluminum. anyway be sure to check out the channel for other cool projects like mini bikes, go karts, gas scooters, motorized bikes, dirt bikes, motorcycles, and I guess motorized trikes too!

Aluminum cuts,using a thin cutoff disc 4in on angle grinder and take a candle and run disc thru it while disc is spinning and wax wheel coat disc, now it will cut aluminum and the disc wont clog up with aluminum, wax wont let aluminum stick to disc and it cuts smooth and fast, you can also cut aluminum with a circular saw, using carbide teeth blade, try the wax, you will be amazed.

I strongly recommend swapping out the rear axle and rear wheels for heavy duty ones. Husky cycles sells the heavy duty wheels and full length 17 mm rear axle that fits right into the Schwinn frame. The stock Schwinn rear axles tend to break (with no motor) on the stub ends where the factory machines them down from 17 mm to about 13 mm for the wheel hubs.

The piece you used to mount the sprocket is one half of a spider coupling, used to transfer torque while also absorbing some backlash you might have. There should be another identical piece that faces the first one with a lobed bushing that fits in between the teeth of each of the coupler halves.
@joehanson762

I built a 3 wheeler, also, but removed basket and mounted the 5 hp briggs and stratin, lined up with rear sprocket to centrifugal clutch on motor , had to replace smallsprocket with a larger sprocket and locked axle at sprocket to dfive both wheels and each wheel had to be locked to the axle.it was a very dangerous bike to fast and 3 wheels so easy to flip sideways and roll,but for all these reasons , it makes it fun youre soon to find out.

To get better connection on the holder and sprocket in alignment vise, bolt both together try to get it into lathe or any other thing that can hold it. I have just couple bearings and cheap lathe chuck in a tube welded to plate frame to hold peaces at the moment, soon to become diy lathe, but now it can be used to turn them to find how crooked those are, do corrections and then weld them. Loosening the bolt you can adjust it to close to center as possible to remove least some of the vibrations coming from unbalance. For smaller parts if you can chuck it into drill that is cheap and easy way to figure this out and even do some turning with a grinder.

Hey man You did ok but I'll tell you how to do it without all the scabbing a nd ugly stuff . Start from scratch and build your own frame . Draw it out on some cardboard ( so it will last out in the shop ) with all straight lines and you won't have the hassel of bending . You just have to make some fish mouth ends . Just make sure you make cut your parts lonend cuts g enough to count for your joining cuts. Use some motorcycle wheels and not bicycle wheels. That will get you started . I think you can do it . Go Man !!!@!
