I've gotten dehydration in a line at Disney World (Florida.) I passed out and was rushed to the hospital, It was very weird surprisingly, I was so numb I didn't feel anything. I'm much more careful now, and bring water bottles every time I travel.

I had dengue fever 2 times in my life . it was very bad. I didn't go to school for like one month . I was so weak and I can't move my body at that time. I had to do blood tests for every day while I was infected . the blood was taken from even my fingers . I always take precautions on monsoon seasons .

My experience was different: I remembered i had the baddest headache and the worst fever while at work. I did not show any symptoms of dengue till on the 3rd or 4th day. That was the time when my platelets started dropping rapidly (it went down as low as 36 lmao). I was this close to be transferred to ICU for blood transfusion. When I got released, the rashes showed up. Hella scary and I'm glad you were able to survive ❤

I had dengue four days after I came back from Indonesia (went to a tea plantation and forgot to bring my repellent). Started off with normal fever + lots and LOTS of vomiting. Luckily, I didn't get any other side effects like you did. However, it affected my liver, my doctors were worried my liver would fail. Thank God it didn't. Strangely, even when my fever shot up high, I still felt fine and not lethargic. The worse part about dengue for me wasn't the fever, it was the countless vomiting which gave me severe cramps (the worse 8h I've had in my life... I thought I was in labour 😆). Glad you're better now! Let's all be careful and start wearing mosquito repellents!
@karensantos5421
@karensantos5421 3 жыл бұрын
Whew! I'm so glad you survived all that. I had Dengue fever too couple of years ago and was hospitalized. Yeah the nausea is due to the liver being swollen. I got rashes on my 6th day of fever before I was hospitalized. The 1st decent meal that stayed in my tummy was on the 6th day of my hospital stay coz the first few days I was actually throwing up anything I ate. It is very vital to stay hydrated when one has dengue fever. Since its a viral infection there's basically no cure, the medical team will only treat the symptoms. But since its a viral infection it is also self-limiting, meaning the virus will die out on its own pretty quickly. Patients just have to "ride out" the symptoms. That's why it is very important to keep your immune system strong and healthy.

I know how bad it feels like. I'm always tired even though i'm just lying in bed and I was so young when I had it to the point that they bought me to the ER the next day because I was vomiting so bad. At the age of 6 my platelet went down to 11, plus my blood type is positive AB and at the moment there was no available blood. My mom and dad legit went to all the hospitals but there wasn't a match so my platelet depleted even more. I can't even breathe, eat properly and I have rashes and bruises everywhere due to all the injections everyday. Now I think i'm fully healed and thank God for giving me another chance to live. And I hope you will feel okay soon ❤️

I remember hearing you talk about recovering from dengue fever but I never really thought about how extreme the illness a nd the longevity of it. Ironically enough I had just watched a video from the Jayoe nation about his friend Matt who managed to contract all 4 strains of dengue (including the hemoragic strain) along with typhoid. He didn't persue treatment right away which made it all the more frightening. I am so glad to see that you were okay, and thank you for talking so in depth about your experience. I always knew it was a concern for a lot of countries but I never realized the effects were so long lasting.

It is a good idea to carry the "DISINFECT WIPES" which kills 99.9% of the surface germs on the airplane! They do not "DISINFECT OR STERILIZED AND USED RECYCLED AIR"! The airplane is full of a lot of "germs and feces"! Please do wipe them down the surfaces and disinfect or sterilized anything you are going to touch on the airplane! The "CLOROX WIPES" is a one product you can buy under $5.00, which has 35 wet wipes!😷🤒 🛫✈🛩

It is happening more now everywhere! The main reson is warming of the our planet. The insects, animals, fishes, and sea creatures are migrating further north.
@young-soonkim6730
@young-soonkim6730 5 жыл бұрын
@cakelon _ There is nature cycle, but human activities is speeding up the warming of our planet earth! One of the cause is the burning of the fossil fuels(gasoline and burning coals) and releasing carbon doxide into the atmosphere. The oceans, lakes, and rivers warm up 5-6 degrees. Therefore, we getting unpredictable weathers! In the short future, people around the world going to migrate because of the severe draughts and floodings. The mining for the resources like oil, coal, gold, other metals do polluted and leave the arsenics in the soil, water, and air! One good new though, they are working on the vaccine for the ticks for human. It maybe available in five years. They do have the tick vaccine for the animals.
@young-soonkim6730
@young-soonkim6730 5 жыл бұрын
@cakelon _ Yes, but the human's activities definitely speeding up the natural cycle! Another sad thing is that they are cuting down the rain forest in the South America! It produce 1/3 of the world's oxygen. Why! The lumbers and raising cattles for the fast-food chains. The cattles produce a lof of the methan gas! Methan is a greenhouse gas like carbon dioxide CO2. A cow does on average between 70 and 120 kg of methan per year!

I had similar sickness last week. I was sick for more than 10 days. It started with fever and tummy aches. After few days I had rashes first on my face then a day after my whole body. When I got to the hospital I was brought to the isolation room for testing. I got negative results for Dengue and Measles. They diagnosed me with Viral Exanthem which is a measle-like rashes. They gave me anti-histamine medicine for the rashes. It’s been 5 days since I got better, no more rashes in the body. Few small redness on the face. Lesson: don’t underestimate your sickness, listen to your body and do not take it for granted.

I also survived the dengue fever, twice! The first time I got it, I had to celebrate my birthday in the hospital, both of my parents and my family was devastated and scared because my moms friends sister died because of the dengue fever. My blood platelet was very low and that was a bad sign, I had to drink this drink called “papaya”. It was a vegetable leaves drink, it was disgusting but after I drank it, my platelet went high which made my parents happy. I was weak too, but my mom would always tell me that I am strong! The second time I got it wasn’t that bad, I had the same feeling from the first time I had it. I got dengue in the Philippines, not saying that Philippines is a bad country, it’s just that the mosquitos are there are you know... It was a very hard time because I had to go to icu, get lots of bloods, and more. Now I can only go to Philippines after 4 years, My doctor said that I should have dengue four times till I’m immune to it! I’m still scared to take that risk I’m just glad that you’re okay!

If you have fever and petechiae appears go to the nearest hospital. WORST CASES like bleeding of the gums, nose bleeding.. When you have dengue, hydration is only needed unless you have a critical level of platelet counts, it might need for a blood transfusion. I hope this helps! Get well soon!

I had a severe dengue case last 2018, I was in the hospital for 2-3 weeks and 4 days in the PICU, the doctors said that it was a miracle that I survived with the complications and other stuff that was making my case harder to cure, I was 13 at that time and I already got my second life, I just recovered after a year being out of the hospital. It wasn't easy to do certain things that I would normally do and I would loose oxygen a couple of times and I wasn't able to write for 1 and a half months because my arm was damaged because the nurse couldn't fine any of my veins so she kept doing it again and again until my arm became numb and I couldn't move it anymore, but I'm really thankful that I survived , I didn't realise until now that I could've died any minute when I was in the hospital .

@@JM-cj4qh ikr idk why i'm still alive rn proof: 1) i had one when i was 4 and i was placed on a crib by the doctors because i was REALLY small, i remember crying all the time because of the needles. 2) i had one when i was 5. i remember my mom reading daily Scriptures to me 3) had one when i was 8. i remember falling asleep and waking up with a room full of doctors and one with a needle. i cried because my mom did not tell me they were coming. being an introvert, i was really schocked and almost had a heart attack. 4) I had another one when I was 10. I remember crying because of the allergy testing (idk if that's what it was called but ye). it was a needle that makes a circle to test if the medicine was an allergy to me. 5) i think... okay, I THINK... i had one when i was 7 but i don't remember. pls don't judge but i only think

I once got bit by a mosquito in the spring-summer and ended up having a severe migraine the next day. I couldn't look at screens, eat, sit or stand, or open my eyes because I would feel extremely nauseous. Had a pretty high fever that day, I'm sure. I'm glad you got better!

How scary to be alone. I think it's a good message to always check in with someone/ family regularly, especially when traveling alone. If they don't hear from you, they know to make phone calls.

I survived Dengue Fever as well. It was a hard process for me and I had to go to the doctors at least once every week and it affected my education. I got bitten on both my legs and my right (dominant) arm. I hated it, I’m sorry for anyone else who has to go through it

I had dengue fever around early 2015 and was hospitalized for about 8 days. It is very common in Indonesia, sadly, so i wasn't so surprised that it could be when you were in Bali that you got infected. I didn't get the hallucination part but nausea was super troublesome. Luckily my dad had dengue fever years before me so he was the one who kept an eye on me. He forced me to eat at least every 3 hours - even small 3-4 bites of food or a cup of soy milk (it was my savior!!) he also make sure i drink water and sleep as much as i can and not using the eyes intensively by playing around with my phone. I basically was just allowed to play music from my phone and minimum social media and games since my eye muscles also felt sore. When I'm awake we usually just have chat about... Anything possible. And also he keeps me distracted from stress (stress makes everything worse). With the rash and itchiness, i remember the hospital gave me meds for it - but it was just for the night so i could sleep. I also remember that showering was banned for me for like... 4 days maybe (?) Idk exactly what's the purpose but i think it might be as well to keep the skin from bring too dry. Well this is a long one but maybe it might be helpful for some people that has to take care of their dear ones that has dengue fever 🤗🤗

I got Dengue Fever too. Right before Christmas 2016. Worst Christmas ever. Nightmares, hallucinations etc. I was hallucinating that my hand turned into bones, hearing people scream and more. Wanted to take showers to cool off and collapsed in the bathroom. Thank God I had visited my mom for vacation/break. Would've probably died otherwise

I live in the Philippines, and theres a very high chance of dengue due to the fact theres alot of mosquitos there.I had dengue fever only once... In the 5th grade.It was a few weeks before my exams and while i was in my 2nd to last class, I suddenly felt a migraine..I didnt know what it was and mistaken it for a headache because that was the first time ive ever felt a migraine. The pain of my head started to increase and increase as i started to go home.. I didnt want to tell anyone that could help me because i thought that i was just sleep deprived or used my phone too much. When i tried to shrug off the pain, and study I only remember trying to memorize a formula for my Math exam, then suddenly i blacked out. I woke up at my bed, with a wet towel on my head ( a technique when you have a fever ). My mom came in and said " sweetie you were burning up so much earlier ". Fortunately for me, i didnt have any rash, bleeding, or anything serious but my fever just came back and back and wont go away, and i couldnt move that much and also had the nightmares. It was a about a week when my mom forced me to go to the hospital. I remember countless times nurses came into the room spraying some anti mosquito stuff, and taking alot of blood tests which made me skinny. They diagnosed me with dengue, and luckily for me i survived, got better, and got to do my exams on time. Thank you Mina for sharing you're story, and making others aware the disease!💜❤️

Hi Miss Mina, Another traveler got the fever that can cause your internal organs to bleed and fail while he was in Malaysia. He survived but his health has been affected by it. Glad you are recovering well. Basil Ganglia is in the center of our brains. It stores all our emotional memories. Traumatic illnesses and events, especially near death experiences, can many times a recall of past events in our life. As we age and transition through life, we sometimes face new challenges to our homogenizing self ego. On top of delirium brought on by fever, dehydration and anemia. These added can trigger negative memories from the past. Glad you are feeling better. Van
