Well guys it's been one hell of a journey across North Japan. A huge thank you to our six awesome guests along the way. We can only hope despite being quite literally chained up, Pete enjoyed himself along the way. Show him some love over on his new KZfaq channel: kzfaq.info I can only hope across this lengthy series, you've discovered one new place, dish or corner of Tohoku you want to experience yourself! Enjoy the final episode and see you soon! STICK AROUND UNTIL THE POST-CREDITS EASTER EGG SCENE. If you're a long time viewer, it'll be rather nostalgic.

As a silent enjoyer of your videos for many years now, I found that ending really nice. Took me back to the first video I watched on your channel which is ironically your first video. I felt the urge to finally leave a comment again. You've came far after all these years and I enjoyed every bit of the journey. You're an inspiration and a real example of how beautiful life can be if you work towards what you really want to do. Thanks Chris, you're doing amazing work showing all these spots, people and so on, never change.

That post credit scene was the perfect way to cap off the journey 😂. I found myself feeling oddly emotional when Chris was back in his old apartment. There’s something really romantic about Chris embarking on a journey back to where it all started alongside the incredible people that have entered his life over his time in Japan. Chris is literally the embodiment of the phrase maybe the real treasure was the friends we made along the way. I have loved every Journey Across Japan but this one felt really special. Thanks for bringing us along for the journey. Looking forward to the next one!

Visting the old apartment really makes this my favorite video you've ever produced. We got to see an old Chris with over a decade of experience in Japan right back where his great life journey began, standing next to a new JET teacher at the very beginning his own adventure. It hits right in the feels. I hope John has a happy and memorable time in Japan and that Chris still has many more adventures to go on. Thanks for the motivation you give us, Chris, to go out and live life as an adventure. (The episode also hits harder since I recently received notice that I didn't make the JET program for the second time 🫤)

Man, seeing Chris in his old home doing the hawk bit... It's such a striking thing to see the grown-up, wiser (hopefully) and accomplished version of Chris sitting in the place where he started and just uttering the same words he once did, in the very same place, on the same platform to the same people, but a decade later. It makes me feel oddly emotional because I'm really happy for him, and at the same time its kind of the ultimate proof that no matter how humble your beginnings, in the end just persevering will bring you to a place where you'll feel grateful and proud of every moment that led you there- it'll all have been worth it. Congratulations on another succesful journey across Japan, Chris!

Going back to the original apartment was great, and such a lucky thing to be able to do. John is really cool to let you do that, and reach out for it. The last scene in the video though was wonderful as someone who has been watching the channel since 2014. I can actually remember watching your first video in a hotel room I was staying at while getting my college dorm situation sorted out. 2 years off on my part, but still that hard to explain nostalgia hit me as I smiled like a buffoon watching Chris ramble about the hawk outside of his room again. Wonderful video. Going back just made it hit harder how long it has been just from my perspective as a viewer.

Oh man, reading Chris' book and watching this episode gave me so much nostalgia! It kinda felt like I've been through Chris' life... I remember I was in a similar situation that in 2012 I moved to Italy and I've been living here ever since and I always wanted to visit Japan and found Chris' channel at the end of 2014 and immediately booked my flight to Japan in 2015. I am so inspired by these videos and I've set a goal to do something similar when my kids grow up (to visit all prefectures in Japan)! I am flying to Japan for the third time in two days with a friend and although is a business trip I'm gonna make the most out of it! Keep posting these amazing videos Chris!

Oh man, I actually got a little teary eyed over the old room! My own life was going through some major changes when I found this channel back during the “hawk alarm clock” times. Gosh, It’s been about 10 years now I’ve been watching the shenanigans of Natsuki and Chris. I’m happy to be a part of the AIJ community and I’m super proud of Chris and the rest of the crew for everything they’ve accomplished. Congrats on another banger JAJ series! Glad it ended with Pete… he’s such a good dude and just makes me laugh. I’m also happy Yuki found the REAL One Piece haha! 🍗 Cheers guys! 😆👏

For me this is one of the best video Chris ever made. Making us feels emotional by his nostalgic stories by the end of the trip feels like, something. Kudos for everyone that has been in Chris' journey for 12 years. Thank you for existing, sire. You make, not only mine but everyone here's life, full of joy and happiness ^^

The rustic snowy scenery is the best in this whole series. The guy John passed up a chance to look at Chris in the eye, with a deep voice saying "Welcome home". Would have been hilarious.

THAT ENDING oh my gosh I remember that video vividly, I can’t believe I’ve been watching you since 2012. Has it really been that long? If I could do anything different, I wish I had started my KZfaq channel sooner - but good on you lad and proud of your journey. Happy to be a part of it in some way, looking forward to working on a few videos of my own. You’ve inspired one I’m working on at the moment. Many thanks and cheers Chris! 🫡😎

Chris's conviction with Pete was a small price to pay for one of the best videos on Abroad in Japan to date! They should get handcuffed together more often.

I've been a HUGE fan of all the different Journey Across Japan series, having rewatched every one of them just because I enjoy em so much. It was an AMAZING experience to actually watch this series while you were on the road. That ending got me standing up and clapping - truly an AMAZING moment. Thank you, Chris and Team, for such a wonderful series

I still remember watching Chris back in the 2010s when I could watch all his videos in one sitting, it is crazy how far everything has gotten. Still one of my favorite channels ever.

Best episode! It was nostalgic seeing that room again. I also started watching around the same time as John. Really enjoyed this series, currently fighting cancer (at age 30) and your videos have been a joy to watch. Thank you, Chris!

The BEST episode!!!! the contrast between traditional looking scenic area of ginzan and the tomfoolery between pete and chris really make this episode so much more enjoyable. moreover, the ending part of this video really bring the nostalgic feelings for me🎉😢

I can't believe that this really is the final episode already, it was sooo much fun watching these whenever they came out. It's truly insane that you and your team have been able to put out such high quality videos every few days. Of course I'd like that to always be the case, but this had to have been exhausting and it's probably for the better that you can rest a little now. Still, you visited so many cool places with so many cool people, I really wish I could do that some day. In short: Thank you so much for another incredible Journey Across Japan!
