Congrats mate! Got my Raptor now for 15 months with a happy 13000km, and the fun does not stop. Best car I have ever owned thus far. Its a pitty you guys dont get the 392HP Raptor in the UK.

I think that you missed the main point. The 2.0l engine on any vehicle of the weight you are looking at. I have had a 3.0l MY18 Disco V diesel and have never had an engine issue. I tow considerably and also wander off-road at least 3-4 times per month for work with a 3.2T trailer. So now you jump to a bigger engine for the Ford. But, you should also have tried the bigger engine in the Disco. Oh, my MPG is standard 30-32, and 24-26 towing the trailer.

That is smart, nice colour too. I only get 18-20mpg towing 2t with a 2.2 ranger and 28 without a trailer. So your consumption isnt that bad. Hope you enjoy it!

Absolutely love my 2023 Wildtrak. By far the best truck I have owned. Infotainment is levels above anything else

Congratulations, hope you get many fun years with the Raptor. I had a brand new Defender P400 X and sold it a year later for a super low mileage (rare and probably final opportunity) Disco 4 Landmark. One reason (there were many, including the split tailgate) was getting rid of the screens in favour of buttons. All the Pivi / HUD feature etc were more of a glitch and annoyance than a benefit. Will be interesting to see how you get on with it, especially with your Defender experience. Sounds like for your intended use it could work out well. Half thought you’d end up with a Grenadier Quartermaster 🤓

Check the speed limits for the ranger, you could get a three point surprise letter if you don't. They are classed as a commercial vehicle, just like a van. But they are not a car derived van so the speed restrictions apply.

Great motor. I love the colour. 15mpg is disapointing though unless you have been driving it really hard. Would like to hear the best you can get out of it sometime.

I’ve towed 2tonnes 100miles today and I got 17mpg which means if I drive sensible I think I could do over 20 without a trailer… Will let you know how I get on

Hi I have the same car and can get 25 on a run going about 60mph it's done 6000miles and it says 20. 2 average also had it down to 15 mpg😂

Am I right in thinking that the Fox suspension upgrade pushes the towing capacity down to 3T as opposed to 3.5T on the standard???

Down to 2.5t from 3.5t so quite significant if you do a lot of heavy work with them

When you have more real world experience with the Raptor, please tell if the bed cover keeps the water and dirt out of the bed. I have a plugin-hybrid Defender and I'm considering the Raptor as my next car, but I need to use the bed as a car boot, so it's imperative that water and dirt don't get in with the original Ford-installed bed cover in place.

I have had 4 pick up trucks now (x3 Rangers, x1 Amarok) all fitted with decent roller shutter. Not a single one of them has been watertight, all leak water one way or another. Not sure if a hinged top would be better

Should live in Greece 🇬🇷. Cars do not depreciat. I have an Isuzu D-Max 2.5 litre twin turbo diesel. Brought in uk for 19,000£. 2014 low milage with just 66,000 kilometers on clock and in excellent condition . Here in Greece 🇬🇷 now it's worth between 23,000/ 24,500 €. So it's worth more now than when l brought it 😊. Also fully com insurance 5 star policy is under €500. Top banana. Plus it does 45 miles a gallon on a run. Excellent value glad l brought it. 17 miles to the gallon in a raptor. I know what l would choose. Plus all that electronics to go wrong NA not interested.

Fantastic package the Ford can be difficult to find a decent Dealer though in my experience they seem to specialise in poor customer service.

Interesting that the UK version only get 292BHP the one we get in Malaysia we get 397ps (390+-BHP) and think the Americans get more than 400 bhp. Seems like the same 3.0 twin turbo. The British one must really be low stressed, so may last a long time.

A mate of mine bought one of these in Australia and promptly returned it six months later for two reasons. 1. Fuel economy was bankrupting. 2. Apple CarPlay could never connect for any longer than 5 minutes and when it did no one could hear the poor bugger on the other end of the line. Of course, Ford's after-sales service was so amazing my mate wanted to blow the dealership up and kidnap the principal's children for ransom but that's another story. I hope your experience is better. Cheers

Should have negotiated an extended Land Rover warranty and kept your Discovery - as towing vehicles comparing apples and pears. But if you want a change of lifestyle and how other drivers on the road perceive you, or take you seriously, then it sounds like you’ve succeeded. Horses for courses. Enjoy

Prepare to be friends with your local garage. 15mpg is not unusual and you'll probably average low to mid twenties mpg.

Way more can go wrong with range Rover so what is your point infact people in American lease Range Rover rather then buy them cause brand new they ok but after 2/3 years of ownership maintenance becomes to much to keep the vehicle as a daily driver

I feel you must have more money than sense, This car's official mpg figures are 20.5 miles per gallon average whereas your Discovery 5 official figures are 45.5 miles per gallon. Yes I agree that these vehicle never do what the official figures say but neither will the Ford Ranger Raptor.
