I worked at Chick-fil-A in the late 90’s. That sounds about right for the recipe. And, yes, pickle juice. It’s also used for the grilled chicken. We didn’t coat the chicken in bags, because we did too much at once. It was done in big bins. You had a bin with your milk mixture (that also definitely had black pepper added to it as well) soaked nuggets beside a bin with the coating. Here’s the step we did back then that makes a huge difference in crispier coating -we double coated the nuggets. We’d put the wet nuggets into the dry ingredients and coat really good, then put them back into the milk bath and then coat again with the dry. I have been doing my homemade chicken that way ever since! So good and crispy!

I've worked at Wendy's twice and we don't make the frosty's in store, we receive it pre-made in a bag (chocolate and vanilla) so if they worked for Wendy's they did not work in the actual restaurant, they worked wherever we recieved it from

I worked at wendys years ago. It had to be someone high up to leak the recipe. Working in the restaurant the Frosty mix just comes in a big bag. You open and pour in the machine.

It would be interesting if someone did those recipes for you, sided by the original one And you had to guess blindfolded which one is which

As an ex-chick-fil-a employee, the chicken nugget thing seems pretty accurate. I just didn't know what we bread it in because it's made at a seperate location and then sent to the resteraunt in premade bags. Also, you're right, we didn't use ziplock bags to bread them lol We had a metal basket that we shook it all up in. That's an over-simplification, but I'm sure you get the idea. Also, we cooked them in big pot-like machines called "hennys" which had tight lids that we had to lock while cooking. The terrifying thing is, that those things are highly pressurized and if anything went wrong those things are basically giant bombs filled with boiling oil, so that was a fun realization...

Ex-Wendy's employee, here. Wendy's does not make the frosty mix in store. It's a bag of ice cream mix (a bag of liquid) that they dump into the frosty machine.

I have worked at Pizza hut, Quiznos, and Winn Dixie. The stuff that winds up at the stores is pre mixed. So no one can tell you the exact ingredients at the franchise level. They can only tell you the processes of assembly.

I used to work for McDonald's & I'll give you this one for free hon. The fries have a couple things people often overlooked but one is that after a good soak to remove excess starch the fries are sprayed in a heavy sugar water just below simple syrup. This is the secret behind that perfect golden brown. Two, they are cooked 3 times, par fry, 2nd fry & frozen then fried a 3rd time at the time you order in a combination of 4-5 different oils which are listed publicly

I use to be a chick fil a worker for 3 years I mean the recipe is quite similar but we don’t use icing sugar we use potato starch wich makes it really good and crispy but the reason why I stoped working there is because the fryer is disgusting it had black mold growing on the handle witch goes in the oil I would put pictures but I doesn’t let me on KZfaq but it was DISGUSTING

There are a boatload of videos on YT in which people re-create fast food items exactly. The one I've seen the most is McDonald's fries, but interestingly, while they are mostly the same, there are a few differences in some of the videos for that. In any case, none of these recipes are actually "secret"; they have been copyrighted, and in order to do that, the exact recipe (including preparation instructions) must be submitted to the gov't copyright office, and copyrights are (surprise!) public information. While you can get the recipes and make them at home, you aren't allowed to use them in your own restaurant or other business for profit or other distribution to the public. Also, the vast majority of fast food items are delivered to the restaurants in a pre-prepared form, so the restaurants themselves don't do much but cook/re-heat them before serving. Therefore, it's highly unlikely that anyone who works in a fast food shop would have any "secret" knowledge about the recipes. But yes, please do a part 2, part 3, part 4 and as many other parts as your little heart desires because I love your videos. :-)

The thing about employees leaking recipes is that a lot of these restaurants get ingredients pre made in large containers. Someone from McDonalds isn’t personally making the special sauce for the Big Macs. McDonalds does publish the ingredients per law. They are as follows: Ingredients: Soybean Oil, Sweet Relish (Diced Pickles, Sugar, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Distilled Vinegar, Salt, Corn Syrup, Xanthan Gum, Calcium Chloride, Spice Extractives), Water, Egg Yolks, Distilled Vinegar, Spices, Onion Powder, Salt, Propylene Glycol Alginate, Garlic Powder, Vegetable Protein (Hydrolyzed Corn, Soy And Wheat), Sugar, Caramel Color, Turmeric, Extractives Of Paprika, Soy Lecithin.

The Big Mac sauce is more or less 1000 island salad dressing. The Wendy's Frosty is made in a frozen bowl and its supposed to be very thick and difficult to drink with a straw, so they give you a spoon. I discovered how to make the McRib. Encore frozen dinners sells a rib like processed meat just like the McRib. So all you need is that, a seeded hoagie bun, sweet onions, and dill pickles. That's really all there is to the McRib, and all these things can be found in your local grocery store. So, no more having to wait til December to get one.
