You broke both yokes. DON'T - DON'T EVER screw the corkscrew entirely through the cork. You get floaters in the wine. Just screw it 2/3 into the cork, and then pull on it. "Squeeze the side of the HOLDER", not the corkscrew.

When it talks about anti clockwise, it’s meaning after you’ve removed the cork from the bottle, you go anti clockwise to remove it from the holder in your hands. 🤣😂

The scary looking knife is actually brilliant. I've got two immune conditions 1 attacks joints, skin, kidney's the other primarily muscles so I have joint pain & muscle weakness that often leads to my hands really hurting, going numb and difficulty working with standard cooking tools. I also have to lean a lot due to severe back pain so being able to hold a knife with a different grip would also allow me to use my elbow to balance & take pressure off my lower back.
@ForbiddenChocolate

Agreed! I had to get elbow pads because I kept giving myself bursitis from leaning on my elbows. (I joke about changing my name to Eileen, buh-dump-bump! 😁) That knife could make up for the leverage lost while resting on one arm.

I allows the wrist to stay in a neutral position, where you can create the most power and put the least amount off strain on the joints. With a classic knife, one off the issues is that you have to move you pinky towards your arm, pinching the joints on that side.

The albumen of the egg breaks down more slowly when the eggs are refrigerated. This makes your eggs stand more proud, and helps keep the yolk from accidentally breaking. Eggs kept on the counter will age quicker, and the albumen will get thinner, faster. Get yourself the Eggcyclopedia. You'll learn a lot.

I've got the Chef'n'Go garlic chopper. I start off with 2 cloves of garlic then when they're minced I add in another 2 or 3 as the recipe calls for. Brilliant little gadget and what I like about it is you can prepare the garlic in advance, leave it in the gadget and it won't dry out. It's easy to clean too as it comes apart but be careful of the blades they are very sharp. You can leave the blades in and it rinses out easily under the tap. To dry it I just open up the "wings" and leave it upside down on the draining board.

I love that knife. I use a wheelchair, so most counters are a bit higher to me. As a result, holding a knife in the conventional way doesn't give me much leverage. I usually hold them underhand, which is only marginally better, but a knife like that would definitely fix the problem. I'm going to have to pick one up. Thanks for making me aware of it.

HI BARRY DEBRA HERE FROM S WALES Love your work, keep it up. I am a Barathon survivor, it took me a few days off and on to go through all 50 videos, but YAY I did it!!! I am a lefthanded like your goodself and I also find some implements awkward to use. I would feel it useful if you did a video aimed at all your lefthanded viewers, with gadgets aimed for a lefthanded market. Re: blind baking, what I do with the egg white is take it as it is and brush it on the pie base and place back into the oven for a further 5 minutes just to seal it and then when you fill the base with the filling and bake it it will not go soggy as the base has a seal over it, and it will remain crispy.

I've had it almost 16 years now and it works uh-mazing! From the way the egg number one and egg number two flowed I think the first box are older than the second box. When eggs are fresh the white is thick, holds together and is attached to the yolk. As they age the white gets runnier and the yolk and white is weaker and doesn’t hold together as well. This is why you can’t poach old eggs as they do not hold together in the water.

I've had to to blind baking when i've made a cheese flan and it's always shrank way too much. Cus i haven't got a clue when it comes to cooking are the beads their to stop it shrinking or if not is there a way to stop it shrinking so much? It's stopped me making my own pastry tbh.

Gives us an update on the spoon in the wine thing; does that actually work? Back in the 1940's my mom had a glass rolling pin that she filled with cold water. It worked like a charm. And it's so easy to just break the egg in half, pour the yolk from one side to the other until the white is all drained, easy peasy. The knife looks interesting, I have Dupuytrens stricture and losing the ability to close my hands so might come in handy, thanks.

@18:15 - I don't do wine, but it seems like it'd be a lot LESS work to get the cork off the corkscrew with that thing than trying to do it by gripping the cork with your finger while you unscrew...
