My Virgin Kitchen is a KZfaq cooking channel created when I wanted to teach myself how to cook and create a video diary of the journey / mrbarrylewis . I have never had a professional lesson & am just your every day chap attempting recipes to inspire you guys to try too. My Wife Becky (aka Mrs Barry) now joins in on the channel too, we upload 2 recipe videos per week, but some fun is had too on Sunday when it is our Funday where anything goes....including giant foods, mini foods, taste testing foods sent from around the World, kitchen gadget testing and many more. Any requests for recipes / cool stuff you've seen let us know! I try my best to reply to as many comments as possible, but it is hard to as we are busy working on the next video, but please interact with eachother and be respectful :-) #barrylewis #kitchengadget #gadgets

Barry, I have one of those defrosting trays, actually I've had it for eons, I find if you give it a rinse with hot water before using it works a little faster. However, 2 to 3 hours is still faster than all day to defrost a piece of meat. Love your videos, cheers!

Thank you for reminding everyone that some gadgets can help people with disabilities. I had a stroke a year ago and lost the use of my right hand. With physical therapy and a lot of work and determination I was able regain most of it. During my recovery while looking online for things to make food prep easier for me I read many comments that basically said things like "how f#!&$ing lazy can you be?" We all need to be a little kinder. Love all your channels. Keep up the good work and again, thank you.

President is a french company, and the Swiss one is called "Emmentaler A.O.C.", this one is called "The Emmental", see the difference? It maybe has some holes in it, but it is most definatly not Swiss cheese. And that is beside the fact that this is the completly wrong cheese for this meal, and that you boil the potatos, not bake them, and that you serve it with pickelt onions and cornichons.

Talking about banana skins, my cousin ( years ago she was 14 I was 15) I'm now 30, had a banana she threw the skin on the floor at the end of her straight. Fast forward a few hours we are sat in the lounge watching telly. My nan walks in crying in pain go mental as shes gone flying on a banana peel. 🙈 we never said anything just giggled quietly. Fast forward a few years the moment was brought up at a family gathering. I ended up caving and telling her it was megan. Thank god my nan ( god rest her soul) loved us enough to see the funny side of it. 🙈 On a side note thanks for all you testing videos its helped me get back in the kitchen since I become disabled. Really is a massive help to see someone real testing them and know it's real.

Put your bowl in the freezer for a bit, toss the whisk in there too if you want, and make sure your cream is super cold as well. whisks up a lot faster

I actually have this Oiladdin thingie - if you push the top of the rubber lamp down, if you fold it in on itself, so to speak, you seal the bottle to make it air-tight.

Like the whisk (I need a new one so might buy that one) but I do confess after I've whipped up my cream or butter icing, I lick the whisk. Anyone else do that? It goes in the dishwasher after though.
