I saw one of your videos and I can tell you're the kind of mechanic I'd want to be.

The late model Express and Savana vans are very reliable. I’m the fleet director for my church and we have 2 Express 3500’s; a 2007 15 passenger & a 2011 12-passenger. We have a 2007 Savanna 3500 15 passenger and they all have the 6.0L V8. We also have a 2006 Ford E-350 Econoline with the 5.4L V8. About 2 years ago, we removed the passenger seats and turned the E350 in to a cargo van. All of our vehicles receive oil& oil filter changes every 3,000 to 4,000 miles or 3 months. The transmissions and transmission filters and rear differential fluid are changed every 25,000 miles. Same goes for coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, they are regularly changed. All were bought new except the ‘07 Express and the ‘11 Express, they were purchased from local GM Dealers with about 25,000 miles. The vans between 95,000 miles to 197,000 miles. I retired from a large municipality’s Fleet Department as the Fleet Director, that’s my background & working experience. I can truly say if vehicle fluids are routinely changed at 3,000 to 5,000 mile intervals or 3 months, which ever comes first they will last and be less expensive to maintain and repair. Only one of our church vans has had the water replaced. The Ford with the 5.4L Triton V8 hasn’t had any spark plug shoot out of the block. Maintenance save money, period.

It's rust free and you like it. That's all that matters. Interior parts are available in junk yards. I did what your doing with my manual transmission 6th Gen Maxima.

Pretty funny Alex! I have a 15 passenger express van, that we use to travel with my kids. Its a poor man's RV. Its still doable. Source out seats from an older conversion van. You can even get reclining seats.

This should make for some great content can’t wait to see you put it all together. That is a great find you were in the right place at the right time for that one. I see you found a good motor hopefully it works out, I probably would have went for a short block possibly a long block if you can’t get the other parts needed. My thoughts on the new engine is because of the low miles on the body and possibly higher resale value when you are done with it either way I like it…👍👍👍👏👏

i know vans are pretty generic for big year bracket, you might be able to source some new interior that would fit easily. also, if its cost prohibitive you MIGHT be better off outsourcing some of the labor. do what you know you can do well, the things youre most worried about being done right the first time. anything else you can find someone to do for a reasonable price. or, you can let it be a longer term project, take your time on it. thats the best ways to save money.

How far is the nearest Asphalt/Hot Mix company, yall can ask the Dump Trucks coming in and out the Asphalt business if they have any left over Hot Mix that they need to dump if they can bring it to yall, because these Road construction companies order too much asphalt for the job they're doing and they just have the drivers dump it back at the Asphalt company in their waste/grindings section.
