This is the dream. Being a part of the development for something you truly love and enjoy tinkering around with in your free time. I've been obsessed with minecraft for almost ten years now. Even though I'm not a major cog in the wheel that keeps it turning, I love that I'm a part of the community and get to enjoy it in my spare time.

The straight lines vs wiggly lines in cities have to do with planned vs organic. Most older cities had little planning and things developed organically. That’s basically every European city. Planning picked up as the Us moved west and most of those have grids.

God, I wish I could explore that world myself. It looks awesome. Would love to get the schematics to Matt’s house from the start of the video, it’s beautiful.

That is truly fun arrangement of multiple buildings to form the sense of a neighborhood inhabited not just lots of vacant houses or stores meant for a single person to live inside it is a challenge to get there. Especially having to gather the items it takes years so its nice to keep adding to starter bases someday i will do this also. But after a computer has internal memory lost it gets to a point where the player has more guarded plans for setting up new devices and external memory cards

Pretty awesome to see all this. It is both inspiring and overwhelming especially since my builds are pretty pathetic. In playing with my kids and the dev saying they have kids playing as young as 4 I am amazed that things are not broken or full of wholes. Maybe the kids play in a different part of the world. I did feel like he could have explored more of the world. Pretty much stuck to the spawn area buildings, the nether bit and then the end. Feel like ibxtoycat could have spent more time in the world and edited it down, pretty much the whole thing was a live walk through.

This reminds me of the old days when i would load texture packs on minecraft ps4 edition and join worlds that would appear as a world built specifically for that texture pack and just walk around, destroy things and mess around, anyone else did that or remember that?

As far as the door dash and pizza just remember everything is ok in moderation but you go all out like an addiction. 3:26 im a delivery driver in a major us city. the grid system is far superior to any city layout that was laid hundreds of years ago (like most EU cities). in a grid system, if you give me an address i can figure out where it is with just the target address and looking at street signs and addresses. every street/ave has a dedicated "street number" that corresponds to addresses on the street. its not that we dont understand anything other than a grid its that we understand a grid is obviously more efficient in nearly every manner, from travel to construction.

You have to remember that some of our (American) cities were not originally built with a plan in mind. The city of Savannah in Georgia was the first city to really be planned. And as for the other cities it is kinda hard to turn those into grids when you already have that many buildings layed out.

That world is beyonf impressive i cant even imagine how much dedication and motivation you gotta have to pull that off

Communal chests should be connected to auto farms, so that they're always stocked up or atleast stock up after a while

I had this idea for the upcoming update and I have no clue where to put this (since I only use KZfaq and discord) but I want at least a few people to see it and possibly spread it to other platforms. In minecraft there are some structures that are designed to “teach” players about certain game mechanics like the ruined portals that hint towards the nether and how some igloos have the basement that show how to convert zombie villagers into normal ones. Now what if mojang did something similar with the sculk? The cabin in the reveal trailer could be expanded upon to be a lab of sorts to hint towards the various uses of the sculk sensor with a water logged one to show how it can be silenced, one next to wool for sound suppression and a comparator and repeater for its redstone uses. The cabin could add to the lore too with it being a lab to experiment on the sculk itself it eventually evolved and breached containment resulting in the lab owner becoming the warden. TL;DR mojang could add an educational structure for the sculk the same way they did for the portals and it could add lore behind the warden’s creation

I believe how ghast spawning works is they spawn on a block with a lot of area around it at any light level, so the only way to stop them from spawning is with slabs or making sure there’s not an 100 block cubic area around a block (5 x 4 x 5)
