Good choice. Ranger is the number one selling vehicle here in Australia. Provided it is correctly serviced as specified by Ford, you should have years of trouble free motoring.

Sorry to hear about your Discovery 5 experience - I've heard it's not unusual, sadly. My 2015 Discovery 4 is still going fine, perhaps I'm just lucky, love that car - I'll probably run it till it dies. Your Ranger looks like a beast! It will feel perhaps a little crude after the Land Rover, but if it proves more reliable it'll be worth it. If it doesn't, just give up and get the Toyota.

We have a Bayliner 175 too. Tow it with a 2015 xc60. Cars definitely just become a tool once you have a boat!! 😍🤣

I really like the look of the Ranger and have often fancied one myself, a friend of mine has a Defender 110 and a Ranger, he tows a boat with it, and says compared to his Defender the Ranger is light weight. Hope you get on with it, and look forward to a progress report after a few months of use. 👍

Good choice, but make sure it has the gearbox recall and had the new filter fitted. It’s a great bit of kit and I don’t blame you of pimping it up as I have a MSRT. Good luck 👍

Good luck with it ,they do have their issues . The Raptor looks a nicer looking truck.I still have a 2008 Ranger Thunder great machine with a Mazda 2.5 tdci a reliable engine and drive train .

Reliable? The reason I have held off getting one is the reported unreliability. Even Ford's CEO was reported as saying they have a reliability issue with their cars etc. Hilux is reliable; just not quite as eye catching as a Ranger.

Wow a real capitulation. Though I've had bad experiences with the Ford but it wasn't a wild Trak. I'm in the process of installing a new engine. I won't buy Ford again 🤣🤣🤣

Out of the frying pan and back into it, I have the ford ranger raptor 2.0 bi-turbo which is the same engine as the wild track and it had to have a brand knew engine at 60k so just make sure you get extended warranty

😮 oil pump have a nasty habit of shitting themselves and then the engine follows around about 4 seconds later, not sure there is anything very reliable now a days, should have stuck with the D90.

I have a 2021 just like yours. Had it 2 years it’s done 55k now. The economy is poor, but what’s worse is the gearbox. It feels like they fitted a 10 speed from the 1950s. When cold I’ve counted 3 seconds between changes then it jerks forward. Ive had this checked ford say its working as it should. This car has a full main dealership service history. I hope you have a better time than i have but the gearbox is a dog sorry.

Getting rid of a Land Rover for the majority of other vehicles is a wise choice... even if it is for a Ford Ranger.

I would have gone with the Hilux as they are far better than the Ford, our fleet where hilux and was replaced with the Ford, mine and a few others have been nothing but trouble, remember Ford supplied the engines to Land Rover that regularly snapped their camshafts.

New to your channel.. mate why didn’t you just buy a genuine Raptor? By the time you have messed about fitting all that junk you will have spent more than purchasing the real thing. I’ve just traded in my 5.0 supercharged RRS in for a Raptor and am absolutely blown away with the Fox suspensions ride. It pisses all over the Range Rover sport for ride quality,comfort,mpg. Piss take insurance and the fear of waking up to an empty driveway!!! Mine was stolen but it was found parked on a side street 3 hrs later. Big mistake not getting the Raptor!!!

The 2.2 in the ranger was a very rreliable engine the 2 litr has had problems here in ireland for a period ford dealers pushed the 3.2 diesel have i know of 2 people who had to get the 2ltr engine replaced with less then 60000 km on both engines but as we say here well wear

Looks well but watch it on a few things, glow plugs can fail and pain to access, constant bongs for “engine on” seatbelt warning, door open,… adblue system can be a problem, chassis rust faster than a Landy so job no 1 is wax it also watch anyone travel sick as if they is in the not very comfy rear seats there very bouncy, overall from my experience there a good looking truck but still a truck, body on frame, poor road manners etc.

Sorry to say that I hear nothing but bad things about ford rangers, good luck I hope its not as bad as the land rover.

Tbh I think the discos with the 2.0 diesels are and have been a ticking time bomb. Absolutely no good to what you needed it for too. I have a 3.0l disco 5 lux as yours was and owned for 5 years now. It hasn’t gone wrong once…I keep the LR ext warranty renewed every year in case but so far never needed it.

A lot of ex LR owners seem to prefer the Ranger. Although it's a pick up so its not as practical as an SUV/Estate car.

Hope you it's the 3.2 one make it has the correct grades of oil and coolent as when high mileage comes not with 9000 miles but between 80-120k oil cooling can not all break the engine in a big way and maintenance of the gearbox is must also would like to get one myself in bronze the wifey says bucket list but ssangyoung musso have limited editions with 150k warranty too and 3.5 ton towing capacity also so it would be head over heart not how fast it at destination more comfort than anything but not for a long while yet🍻👌👍🦾
