DCS AH-64D APACHE - Today we try a User Mission I came across in the DCS User Files on their website. It's an Apache Convoy Escort Mission and as you'll see, it got pretty interesting!

Great subject matter. I don't believe that any DCS CC looks at user files. This can be very helpful. Good idea. 👍

I just found out about this video, thanks for showcasing the mission :) There was a 3rd option to avoid being a war criminal ;) If you stop the convoy within 1km of a suspected IED you will have an option in the F10 menu to let the convoy inspect it. If they find nothing they report back to you and you can let them pass safely, if they find one they will blow it up themself from a safe distance. It is explained in the description of the mission. I plan to do some similar mission for all maps eventually.

I have tried a few of the missions posted on the DCS forums. Mostly what I find are missions that just want to see how fast they can get you out of the air. I am tooling along getting set up for my attack run and I am blotted out of the sky by a Tunguska that was spawned directly under me when I flew over a trigger zone and had no chance of reacting. I don't mind challenging missions, but they have to at least have the possibility of success on my part. If I wanted to go down in flames, I would just go to my local club and let the women there do it. I make a note of the mission creator and will avoid any further missions. That's all that he accomplished. And the more I fly the Syrian map, the more it becomes my absolute fave. I will just hop in a Huey and start exploring. There's so many cool spots and when I see something that makes me go "hmm...that would make a cool place for a mission" I take a pic with my phone so I can find it again. But all the maps have their own special things. Love the channel, liked and subbed. And I will check out your past videos. See if I can find some some gems I have not seen!

Thanks so much man, great comment to read. I’m workin on some missions myself to make videos on and share. I’m just starting to the bar is super low for missions but have to start somewhere lol

@@callsigngrimey If I may make a suggestion, make them fun. Make them immersive. The best missions are the ones with lots of eye candy. And most important, if you have to go to one extreme or the other, go towards the less difficult. Yes, the really experienced players will easily win. But most are just beginning and need some victories. That will keep them coming back for more!
