You seemed very limited from their structure build. Next time you should look at the value, count the items, and then bulldoze the lot. You then have to make with with same or less than value and items. You would have to also maintain bedrooms/bathrooms count (unless you can get more) this way you an really show what you can do their their restrictions.

I've renovated this house before and whatever the issue is with that wall by the bathroom is a huge pain

this just shows how little thought goes into making these starter houses. you made it cuter while staying within the same budget and within the same restrictions....sigh.

I really want you to do this challenge, but.. Instead of going one by one item swapping out making small changes, I want you to count the items on the lot, give yourself the value of the house and start from emty on the lot! It would me more effort making the calculations, but I think you limit yourself too much when attempting to renovate instead of building new!

Honestly please don't worry about people telling you to stop being a hater, etc. You're one of the few simmers who actually calls EA out on how bad the game is without mods and the community's efforts to fix it. I disagree with you on so much and have an entirely different playstyle (storyteller/supernatural sims and extra gay WickedWhims all the way babey) and yet I still really love hearing your personal criticisms because, while I may not care much about the topics, they're important as heck and should be addressed by the developers. You clearly love the game, which is why you want to see it be as good as it should be!

You're not a hater. You just do what everyone fan of something should do. It's good to critisize things you like, because saying that you like everything just coz' you're a fan is wrong.
