I absolutely love Brett’s channel as a young woman(I am in my teens), and I go to a public school where a lot of people(including my teachers) try to push their political views on me. My brother gets bad grades on essays because he has a different view point, and I have to change my views in my writing so I don’t fail her class, even if those aren’t my opinions, it is hard to live in this world.

As a vegan, I will say I found the video very funny! I also have to say, like in everything food related, there are good and bad products. You can find good "fake meats" and bad ones. Also, more important than that is how you cook it. It won't be the same way as regular meat and it can be different between brands. I would never thought of using an AirFryer to cook these things, except the nuggets or something like a schnitzel. I would almost always use a pan.

I just dont get . why you need fake meat ? if you are against of eating meat why to fake it ? its seems like for me like : guess there is a restaurant where they serve fake human flesh or worse fake human baby flesh and you celebrate it :O. The term "VEGAN" refers to the philosophy of avoiding undue harm to any animal life, as far as practical, whilst "vegetarian" is merely someone who consumes a plant-based diet. Therefore, veganism is NOT a diet but a moral or ethical position against animal exploitation of any kind. 🌱

Fresh food is the best! What's your favorite dish for barbecue in the summer? My favourite is the following (everything comes on the grill, of course): Green asparagus, large tomatoes that have been cut all around and garlic slices are inserted into the cuts, sliced aubergines or zucchini and marinated with a herb marinade. Occasionally I wrap bacon/porkbelly around the asparagus, but that would no longer be vegetarian. Along side the grill stuff, I like to make a green salad with legumes, seeds, herbs, sometimes maize or beans and a dressing diluted with water that consists only of oil and vinegar.

But then the menu listed stuff like chicken and pork, but not in quotation marks. So I was really confused, but then found out it was really fake "chicken" and "pork". With respect, and I do truly mean that. The issue I have with 'vegans' is the virtue signaling and judging from them, often against those that eat meat. It isn't enough for them to eat vegan, but they practically have to stand on a soap-box and trumpet it on the rooftops to everyone else, as well as make snide remarks toward anyone that doesn't follow their secular religion. disclaimer: I'm not saying that is you. I'm not saying that is all of them. I'm saying there are indeed a lot of them though.

While I do agree that most vegan advocacy isn't carried out effectively, I can't help but chuckle that a lot meat-eaters get upset by it (despite vegans having a reputation for being "sensitive"). A line up of piglets ready to get their teeth pulled and tails cut off is nothing. But some vegan shouting words; 'oh the horror...' In my own personal humble opinion, it's a bit strange.

@@stephen-dev “Religion is getting people to believe in things they can't see. Veganism is getting people to see things they don't want to believe”. From Carnism debunked. It's not a religion and it's not a diet. Not every person who eats a plant based diet is vegan, but all vegans eat plant based. Veganism is an abolitionist, rights based movement, i.e. basic rights, the right to not be killed, noninterference, bodily integrity, etc. At its most basic level, it is not about bigger cages,while that is preferable, rather the abolition of animal ag and all the other ways we exploit sentient beings. It isn't about virtue signalling, or thinking that we are better than everyone else, quite the contrary. It's not about us, vegans, it is all about them. The awareness that every day some 200 Million sentient beings, having individual experiences, much like our companion animals, or ourselves for that matter, are having it all taken from them. All for “products” we don't need. Do you think we enjoy being exposed to horrific footage or spending hours debating with people? I don't care about”point scoring” or "winning”, only about trying to get people to see things from the victim's perspective. We are not better than them, we want, and we can, so we take. Might makes right.But we can do better. Our society's ideals, the ones we hold up as virtues, kindness, compassion, protection of the weak and innocent, why should they only extend to our own species? Rather than focusing on the differences, please, think about what we have in common. Check out "Dominion"2018 and see what you are personally responsible for if you consume animal products,what the true price is and who pays it. Even just the Dominion (2018): Official Trailer - "We Will Rise Together"it's under 5 minutes,and Dairy is scary, again, it's only 5 minutes long. But, I still managed to distinguish it from real meat (I did not compare them side by side) but it was quite an experience lol. Not gonna eat it again tho, I really prefer real meat (not the ultra processed one tho) over any kind of veggie meat.

As a vegetarian, there should be something’s said. Not every vegan “meat” is the same. Some brands are better than others, and each meat type is as well. Further, some substitute types are also better. Like I would highly recommend pulled jackfruit sandwiches or “beef” crumble chilis as starters to really see the flavor come out. Straight up by itself, you can really notice the difference, especially with texture. When I switched, I didn’t really care about that as flavor was more important to me and how it was cooked. I know Brett is sponsored by Good Ranchers so maybe that impacts the judgement a bit. But not really enjoying the “meat” how it’s supposed to be is a little off the mark. The reason to do it is to “capture” the flavor that meat does bring. But not cause the environmental harm or animal cruelty that raising animals you slaughter does bring. There is a small health component as well since they usually do have less cholesterol and fat too Vegan “cheese” on the other hand… yeah, that isn’t so good still and they really need to better there. 😂

Just wondering if you are aware of what happens in the dairy and egg industries,if you are not eating meat for ethical reasons, dairy,egg and meat are pretty much the same industries as in the end they all end up in the same slaughter houses. If you have 5 minutes maybe watch " dairy is scary '' and The "Dominion we will rise "trailer. The whole "Dominion" documentary is very full on ,but worth it to understand what these beings are put through,and if you consume any animal product what you are paying for, and what is done to them on your behalf. They are here with us,not for us.

@@WGUTR I am aware for the most part and tend to avoid dairy and eggs as much as possible, but they are sneaky in foods, like in random tomato sauce, that I kinda gave up on being fully plant based. It is possible though that through eggs and dairy can be taken more humanely than most factory farming. For example, in sustainable farming practices or you just living off the land
@WGUTR

@@TheClimateChannel You're not wrong there! They sneak animal products in wherever they can,for sure. A quick check and you can figure out if there is something nasty lurking,though. And once you know,you're sorted,I don't really think about it now unless it's something new and let's face it there's much more actually being labelled plant based,which is great. As to the humane farming,there isn't really any way to do it without exploitation. You said you are aware,but I just want to step through it and highlight a few points. Firstly, as long as we are using them for their secretions,we are treating them as commodities,not the thinking,feeling beings they are. With eggs,even on the sustainable/family farms the overwhelming majority of the hens have still come from the breeding barns where the males are ground up alive. Added to that with very few exceptions when they are no longer producing they are killed for their flesh. The same with the dairy,for the bobby(boy calves) they are a waste "product". Even for the so called sustainable farms it's not commercially viable to keep the boys around or to continue to feed and house the cows and hens after they stop producing. The dairy and egg industries are the meat industry, just delayed and the torment is drawn out. For cows that's usually 4-6 years and they have a natural life span of 18-25 years. Hens usually only get 18 to 24 months,when they could live 5-10 years. There can never be a humane animal ag system,all the "products"require exploitation, cruelty and death by their very nature. None of the beings involved will ever be shown the respect they deserve, because at the end of the day they are property. If you do have doubts about anything i've said please watch the recommended videos they will show you everything you need to know.

And the only thing that you really need to worry about eating vegan food (despite the taste and the fact that at least 50% of the food available in markets are just some weird racket with a vegan label attached to it to cost more), specially you're into some high protein diet for the gym or some other sport... it's that you will fart WAY much more (... and also you might want to avoid those tiny toilets with the water cistern attached to it...), that being said, I've never felt stomach aches or digestion issues again after becoming vegetarian.

I and most other vegans didn't stop eating animal products because we didn't like the taste of them. We stopped because with all animal products there is a victim. A victim that is put through a very real living hell of exploitation,violence and death,all for “products” that we do NOT need in any way to be happy and healthy. Veganism is not a diet. Surely the fact that the other animals are very much like us in all the ways that matter, thinking,feeling individuals whose lives matter to them as much as ours do to us,means that they should be treated with the same respect and dignity as we should? If you disagree with the fact that they deserve the same basic rights as we do, you are completely morally ok with breeding,exploiting and killing, conscious, thinking, feeling beings who have the same desire to live as you, when it is totally unnecessary. If that's the case, what is the difference between, say a dog and a pig,or a human, for that matter, that in your mind makes it ok to do what we do to them? Check out "Dominion"2018 and see what you are personally responsible for if you consume animal products,what the true price is and who pays it.Even just the Dominion (2018): Official Trailer - "We Will Rise Together"it's under 5 minutes. Also Ed Winters ted talk: Every argument against Veganism. Animals are here with us not for us.
