Diesel trucks irl dont just have a lot of torque at lower rpms, most of them actually have turbos to help when you get to higher rpms as well. Same goes for most trucks, they still have a lot of torque at higher rpm. The reason they hit most of the torque in lower rpms is because it helps while towing things and moving a lot weight.

The revs drop so fast because you upgraded the flywheel , dont upgrade the flywheel for drift cars so the revs fall slower. For your comment about diesel and torque Torque is what makes cars accelerate faster the hp is tied to work done over a certain amount of time i think the measurement is 21,000 lbs per minute is = one HP . coined from the average horse on mill pulling weight over time. What car enthusiasts feel when you accelerate , the G forces specifically, the hp is a negligent stat for seat of the pants feeling. Drag racing is about torque road racing is better associated with hp like f1 cars

American diesel trucks with some modifications pull very hard in the lower rpm range, you can try it out with the diesel trucks in the game

people that boast about torque when they have diesels are *typically* people with trucks who haul/tow stuff so the torque is the main number that matters. if its people with a jetta or other diesel cars that arent intended for towing brag about torque, they're probably just stupid. I personally have never talked to anyone who brags about torque that wasn't someone with a truck talking about towing
