I Tweaked an old Larry Williams Strategy to work on Forex (greatest swing value GSV)

In this video I tweak an old idea from Larry Williams to create a profitable trading strategy for EUR GBP Forex pair. An idea of measuring buying and selling pressure called Greatest Swing Value or GSV.
I picked up the idea from Larry's book "Long-term secrets to Short-term trading"
Although now an old idea, the principle can still be used successfully today.

Thanks for this video! I really like your approach. Yes, so far I had little luck with EURGBP. I’ll be testing your strategy :) cheers! I really like the DayDelay idea. It's like BarsSinceEntry but using a specific time of day. Looking forward to the next clip 🔥🔥🔥

Thanks for video! You change a little original Larry's Strategy. Originally he did not use lowest low bar as buy trigger, he wrote only about down close bar before buy, and some trend identification like close[4]

I don't think you covered the short set up and I haven't seen the original from Williams. I assume the short GSV is: ((open-low)+(open[1]-low[1])+(open[2]-low[2])+(open[3]-low[3]))/4 (easylanguage)? Thanks for another good video.

Larry suggests you can use the opposite direction GSV value for the stoploss level. That could be worth investigating too. As opposite levels tend to work well with breakout systems. Thanks for the video and explaining these ideas.

What commission and slippage are you using on the backtest your showing pal?

It is not the strategy that Larry suggests, he talks about the last close lower than the close (not the lowest low) of 5 days ago (not 4) and then takes into consideration the average of the last 4 bars

Great explanation! What kind of money management strategy do you use for your backtesting? In other words, what’s your position size for every trade?

In back testing I am using 1 full lot or 100,000 units.

Good day Jarrod, I enjoy your videos and plan to sign up to your course! I find it really helpful that you put out free content as well so we can get a taste of your trading knowledge. I noticed in this particular video, you drew out the gsv rule on the whiteboard, which is really nice! Only one problem I have. When you say lowest low over the past 4 days, wouldn’t you count from the bar left on? Because you only drew 3 bars next to the lowest low. Do we still count back 4 bars or how does it work? We look at all 4 bars and see which one had the lowest or highest price. Hope that clears things up.

@@TheTransparentTrader well at 5:14 you say: “is the low of the most recent bar the lowest over the last 4 bars“ which means you should have drawn one more bar on the white board to the left. Otherwise with the sketch now, we’re just looking at the 3 previous bars
