I've played through Armored Core 6. The gameplay is good. The customization is good. The Boss Fights are good. So yeah, the game is really good.

My favorite mission in, I think armor core 5, was a mission where you had to run a blockade of ships to destroy a vulnerable target behind the blockade. The mission starts with you having giant rockets strapped to your back flying at insane speed dodging incoming fire from the blockade ships. The rockets break away once you reach your target. The best part? You could boost while the rockets are firing to go even faster! So if you refit your mech for max boost you can S rank the mission because you reach the target insanely fast.

Environments matter in these boss fights, such as Sea Spider. Also length of attack time as well as possibly a fixed length of attack distance, leap or area. Often times with Sea Spider, I was hitting one of his blades before one of his slam attacks were completing. So proper area positioning for being able to fully clear the full length of an attack matters.

to touch on that NG+ aspect towards the end, this game was meant to be played in NG+ as more missions open up, from what I've heard as far back at NG+5, idk if this includes additional bosses, but more missions overall open up each tier it seems. if its like Elden Ring, it'll stop at or around +7 (I believe the previous souls titles from them also stopped at 7?). something to keep in mind for anyone who was wondering if there was a point to doing NG+ after beating the story
@christopherlyndsay86119 ай бұрын
Yeah there’s some great moments in NG+. Like in the mission before wall climber with the red guns, you have the option to murder them instead lmao
@lesslighter9 ай бұрын
You basically have to NG+3 the game to get all endings but due to the entire mission structure you will have to revisit 1 ending for a couple of times but by then you should be more than prepared to steam roll the game to get to the branching point granted it isnt like Last Raven....

One of the many contributing factors of this game's monetization-free customization is probably the fact that Fromsoft prioritized the single player experience over milking people's money by giving us a properly finished game complete with all of its contents.

@@mrdappernature8861 I have fought a few, they are challenging and menacing, not as difficult as most souls bosses From Software has done but they offer a proper challenge, but that's just how a proper boss fight should be in any game, when dtmyco1044 said it wasn't an souls like, it's because it doesn't play like it, hard bosses aren't what makes a game souls like. You can hate any souls game FS have made and still enjoy Armored Core, they are separate things.
@Bulsara7779 ай бұрын
I wish that this brings back new mech games, not only by From Soft, but other studios, and if FS continues to develop new ACs, hope in ACVII we have the ability to do mission in coop, assemble a lobby in the mission selector, and go in together, maybe they even add this to the game. It will make some boss fights easier, yeah, but this was never a problem in the souls games, shouldn't be a problem here either, the amount of fun would be a lot.
@lesslighter9 ай бұрын
The fact they scrapped Co-op from ACfA and ACV-VD was most likely a compromise, they want new blood in a very old franchise so they had to "stick" with the most legacy of mechanics baked in the franchise basically they made 9 years worth of soulsborne games and 1 AC game (ACVD is nearly 10 years old) just to get peoples eyes glued on them for the game the company was known for mech games (ACE, Frame Gride, Armored Core, Murakumo, MWC, Gundam Unicorn, Steel Battalion 2 yes yes.... I know it sucks, Chromehounds) And a spiritual successor in the form of Daemon x Machina the fact the second game is also announced means yes...

From what I've seen the game is very polished but has a very narrow scope. It looks they spend most of the development time refining and perfecting the feel of the combat. Thus leaving very little time to construct the content. So they went with an early 2000 on rails very structured mission system. Games like this benefit greatly from post launch content expansions.

I think the graphics needed to be the way they are to offer bigger mission areas and more action. More missiles can take flight, with more targets to shoot, and more destructible objects in the environment, all with no frame drop, slow down, or stutter. It runs smooth on older computers, it runs perfect on newer ones, and the action is total madness during some boss fights. Some are criticizing Monster Hunter Wild trailers for looking like an older engine, but nobody commented on the huge herds of monsters in the game or how smooth it ran. The irony here is that only the only ones complaining are the ones who bought a 4090.

I described Armored Core VI to a friend as a "game-ass game". It's a strange thing to have a game you can drop in and out of with ease these days. So many games seem to demand your attention and time. I have plenty of both but it's nice that there's a game I can just hop into, run a mission, hop out. Even if you fail the mission, it's still a lot of fun. It feels like a game from a bygone era. The easiest way I can describe this is Super Mario Bros. on the NES. You can pop that on, race through a level and then... go play frisbee. Equally you can stay up well past your bedtime trying to perfect a boss fight. And the game punishes you not a jot. I can't think of a game that was this easy going. From delivered a game and said, "here's a toy, play with it."
