I love the way Knox is stretching himself creatively in the last few songs and videos. He's stepping out of the traditional rap beats, videos, etc and we really get to see how imaginative he is. He's a great storyteller, I'm looking forward to him writing that novel he has talked about. If anyone can break the curse for his girls, it'll be Knox.

From what he shared with us, he was put through the ringer for sure. I listened to this and had the same thought about him using this beat on such a serious topic. Instead of the monumental amount of sad songs about this, he flipped it and made the best out of a bad situation Knox style. Like you said, if anyone can do it, it's Knox. (Him in the dress had me laughing, too. 😂)

A year ago I would have laughed if someone told me I’d be listening to hip hop and rap, now independent hip hop and rap artists are mostly what I listen to! I’m 41 in the car pool line of a religious private school listening to guys like Knox, Tom, Upchurch and I can’t leave Nova out because she is crazy talented herself (I’d say she’s the most talented overall because she can do it all from writing, her vocals, producing music videos, etc). I was a diehard country fan growing up in a Republican midwestern rural area of our state but newer country had me going back to older country, came across a song by Upchurch when I was searching for Eric Church and gave it a listen, then found all the others from there. My playlist includes more of men with face tattoos than not lol!! Even got Scars tattooed on me inspired by both Tom and Upchurch (I’m avoiding the ‘beef’ between them since I like both)

I would definitely call this a Latin beat. Great to see Samuel Perry-Falvey working with Knox too. The video looks so different from the continuous-scene videos he's done with Ren - even some special effects!

Sometimes laughter/dark humor is the only way to deal with the hits that just keep on comin. Knox has a way of getting the message through, even if others don't understand it at first. I think there are many that know exactly what the curse is.... we all deal with it in different ways, this is Knox's. This song, the beat, reminded me of something you'd hear in a New Orleans service for some reason. When my mom passed in February of 2008, her older brother had a heart attack that May (he's ok, but just f'ing really?)....I just kinda fell to my living room floor and sob laughed. I actually told someone that 'god' was just laughing his ass off at all of us and I wished it would stop. *It hasn't stopped yet* .

I've watched many of Knox's reactions, but his intro on the one he did on Tom MacDonald's latest had clips from this and it caught my eye. I *love* this video--and I am not really much of a rap fan. Knox definitely changed that, at least with this song! It's catchy and dark and weirdly charming, and I love it.

I wonder if he wrote this song due to recently losing his grandfather and maybe hearing the stories about him from his family and he decided to go back and look through his family tree? Yeah, I loved the dark humor of it and his bars had wit for days, but wasn't super crazy about that beat choice. Just a little too upbeat to make it as ironic as it was intended to be. Still very solid penmanship.
