in your experience are these 1mz-fe camrys reliable? im thinking of getting one for my daily. cheap enough to throw around but enough power to be usable, plus japanese

They are easily reliable as long as they are maintained. This Camry here died because it had not been maintained by the past previous owners. I'll have to pull the valve covers and see how much sludge it is and pull the oil pan and see what it looks like on the under side.

This was the winter beater. I do have an extra 1mz Motor that I'll probably throw in it, hopefully in less than a year.
