I did not hear that the money was gone because of a scam. It was bank error. The bank took the money. The same thing happened a few years back with Bank Of America oh and Wellsfargo was in the news as well but their situation was more complicated something having to do with Mortgage Loans.

No, the important part is to understand that all banks are thieves. If you understand how the financial system works, who owns the banks, and the history behind them then you know they are not there for you. They are only there for themselves and the sooner people realize this hard fact the better off they will be.

2023 was the first year USAA lost money. They’re scrambling to raise fees to make up those losses and prevent losses for 2024. This is freaking out banks as they are facing extinctions.

I agree. Almost all of these bank frauds are inside jobs I just have to believe. Too often the scammer knows the account numbers and balance. While there can be other reasons, by far the most logical explanation is employees of the bank committing the fraud.

🤣 The most logical explanation is the data that’s been hacked from other platforms like health, insurance, companies, banks, insurance, etc., because bank account numbers are listed on there.

Now one of the big problems with these banks is that they’re allowing their employees to work from their home. That’s a huge no-no, especially for institutions financial institutions. That’s a huge no-no. You don’t want any financial institutions to be able to work from their house with your information.
@applelandry42332 ай бұрын
that's not how IT security works at all. insider threats happen because bad people are hired. you clearly don't even understand how work from home functions. when there is privileged information, there's an audit log of who accesses it. if you're suggesting work from home people are stealing this info, it would be very easy to tell who had access to this info...the exact same way Target can tell when an employee is skimming a cash register. no, what most likely happened is these people had their information stolen in a hack and slowly passed around. please stop speaking on IT security. you aren't qualified and must have not realized it until now.
@tommcfadden52322 ай бұрын
Why? Employees work on company computers. They use encrypted software just like when they are in office. They have access to the same information whether in office or at home. Once logged on to the company server their work is monitored just like it is in office.If they are going to steal information there’s no reason to assume it’s easier to steal working from home than it is working in office. There’s been no evidence to suggest that an employee is the culprit. It’s more logical to assume that the person’s information was compromised by their own online behavior or credit card use. That said, IME most banks drag their feet and stall to avoid repaying their member’s money when stolen.

USAA sucks. Back in 1994 I spent 1 hour on the phone to get a quote for auto insurance. At the end of the call. They asked my rank. I was enlisted. They were snobby and said. “ We only accept officers”. Years later they realized the number of enlisted and went for the money…
@kennixox2622 ай бұрын
It was always for commissioned officers, cadets, and their families until the late 1990's or so. When they started to accept enlisted personnel that is when the quality went dow; due to increased customer volume and not a dig at enlisted personnel. At some point around 2010 or so, anyone with an honorable discharge regardless of rank can apply for USAA insurance. USAA was originally started by Army officers, for officers as they were considered at the time a better risk. I don't think any other major bank or insurance company is any better or worse. I think for retail banking, a good credit union is a great alternative.

I have already had two claims denied from homeowners policy and had to pay all the pocket for my roof and damage to my home because of drain pipe leak under my home. I also feel like USAA is not taking care of its members the way it used to by wiggling out of taking care of members by the wording in their policy. I’m not sure if it’s the CEO or whoever is in charge, but why is so much negative stuff popping up? Listen to this one up here in Canada.I'm with one of the 5 big banks and my accounts there are electronic which means a scammer can tap in with a phone sim swap it happens daily. So Being retired and looking at crashing $ 300,000 I went to another old account that my mother inlaw and wife had together until my mother inlaws 2022 death.I talk to the banker about a safe place to stash money that isn't electronic.He then tries to get me to make that 50 year old account modern and elctronic ??? I said are you kidding and then when 300,000. is missing will you pay me back.NO !! he shook his head. This is not a cgood time in history to be electronic as the banks don't care about your security !!

Sadly, banks continue to stumble, mortgage rates is on the rise with higher imports and lower exports, yet the FED is to lessen cost. So, where do we grow and safeguard our money now? something will eventually break if they keep raising interests and quantitative tightening.

Well agreed, I'm quite lucky exposed to finance at early age, started job at 19, purchased first home at 28, got married shortly afterwards to raise kids early. Going forward, got laid-off at 40 amid covid '19 outbreak, immediately consulted with an advisor in order to stay afloat and after subsequent investments, I'm barely 25% short of $1m ballpark goal as of today.

This needs to be a class-action lawsuit. USAA should give all of these people all their money back and stop using the call center or whoever it was that stole the money. They should not just reimburse the members who go to the media but that is what they are going to do unless the victims escalate this.
@aBc-123-XyZ2 ай бұрын
Though one may not be targeted, one should still be alert to what's happening with their account. Most criminals will just take a small amount, just to see if people are paying attention to their accounts. If they took something small from the account and the person didn't do anything, they will be back to take a greater amount. I had someone charge to my account, 10.00 dollars for a program I used about 10 years ago.

Most fraud victims are people who call customer service call centers, go into branches, and or get paper statements.

Congratulations, you've outdone yourself. This video is one of the most impressive one-punch recovery moves I've seen in a while: the coding, the clickbait, the references from other channels/people... *Grind Techiei* just knows an opportunity to recover lost money when he sees one.

USAA insurance sucks too. I filed a claim to fix my roof and what they paid didn't even approach the deductible. Bunch of cheapskates.

I dissolved my relationship with USAA in 2020 when they refused to insure my new home after saying they would do it, leaving me to scramble. I had been a member for over 30 years. They couldn't have cared less. GOOD RIDDANCE.

USAA is like the United States, once a signifcantly great institution that is now in a spiraling decline. They started to close accounts like our 529, retirement and move them to partner companies and then last year jacked our insurance over 80% in one year. I asked them what the heck is this about, they states that Jacksonville FL is experiencing excessive claims and thus the rate change. We dropped them since the car insurance was literally more than our one car payment...

Exactly! My grandparents were so frugal but they had a TON of money on both sides. I remember my grandfather telling me "you want to make money while you sleep." And I guess that attitude passed down to my dad (RIP), because I remember going to his house one day and I had bought something I really liked, so I wanted to show it to him. So I said "Look at this! Isn't it cute? It was on sale...I saved 50%!" My dad replied "Well, if you're spending, you're not saving." Obviously I had no retort, and that has always stuck with me.

I do some of my banking with USAA. Recently I had problem after problem with USAA representatives. I was trying to put my daughters on as POD to a account I have with USAA. Time and time again I was sent the wrong form to do this. Even after I told the rep. it was the wrong form they insisted it was the correct one. Some of their phone reps. do not know how to do the job they are trying do. Training seems to be an issue. I have not seen fraud as of yet but the knowledge of the reps. is lacking. If you are not sure of something just ask your supervisor please.
