Thank you so much Winston for interviewing one of my personal heroes. I admire Yeonmi so much. Yeonmi, thank you for the courage and insight you bring to the tyranny developing in the West and threatening us all. I feel so much grief for the people of North Korea and I hope we can see the country become free, soon. Marvellous episode!

The word “equity” crept up on us. They slowly started replacing the the word “equality” with “equity”. I don’t think many average Americans even realize the vastly different meanings of the words. Please don’t stop telling your story. I believe you are here right now for a very important reason.

The cancelling and character assasination in "free countries" is not coming from the government though. It comes from the "free" citizen, consumer and commenter. Critical comments on twitter come from the public, and guess what? Those are free speech too. Boycotts of individuals happen through actions of individual consumers. And even when individuals are fired from jobs because of opinions, the employer is responding to the moral outrage of the community and how they will attack the employer. Most employers in a capitalist country have nothing to do with government and even the govt connected employers are performing actions based on the opinions and morality of the public. Policy and laws have to ve based on something and for it to be derived from the majority population is fairer than it being derived from a supreme leader. But fwiw I dont really get what was controversial about her political opinion.

I don’t entirely agree with her. In the UK, the proportion of people who are homeless is only 1 in 200. Homeless people are given support but there isn’t a ‘huge industry’ - sorting it is a task that is a relatively small part of workloads.

That's a North Korean intelligence asset, in my opinion. Her escape and rise to fame are just too perfect. Her presentation too polished. I'm not saying she's done anything illegal. For now it seems that she is tasked with forming connections and building influence. All I say is be very careful. Not everything is as it seems, including perhaps even her gender.
