I just realized that it took 40 years for boris to come back with backup because their planet is 20 light years away. 20 years to their planet and 20 years back to earth. This implies many things. The most obvious is that their race is capable of light speed travel but at the same time, they haven't figured out stuff like wormholes or other "faster than light" traveling methods.
@ghostface0927
@ghostface0927 Ай бұрын
You didn't account for time dilation. When something goes very fast, time slows down for it and at the speed of light, time stops. But it continues for everything else, this is time dilation. So if you travel at the speed of light for 1 year and come back, for you it's been 2 years, but due to time dilation 4000 years has past on earth. So 40 years at light speed would take 80k years in real time. It's also impossible for anything with mass to travel the speed of light, so it's logical to assume they are going near light speed. No matter how you look at it, traveling 40 light years in 40 years is impossible. By the time boris returned to his home planet they all would have starved to death
@everydaycommentator6036
@everydaycommentator6036 Ай бұрын
You've got it backwards. What would happen is it would take 40 years to travel (assuming the distance is a little less than 20 light years, not 100 %) but for the person travelling it would appear only a few years would have passed. Because if someone is taking 80K years to travel 40 light years, it wouldn't be near the speed of light would it? (It would be C/2000) at which speed the time dilation is negligible.
@ghostface0927
@ghostface0927 Ай бұрын
@everydaycommentator6036 I just double-checked my work by reading a post from someone who is more knowledgeable than me, and my numbers were wrong. If an outside observer on his home world waited for borris to travel 40 light year to them, more than 40k years would pass due to him having mass and theoretically going 99.9 the speed of light. So the trip would take longer than my previous estimation. You were right in the fact that borris wouldn't age 40 years, it's would be around 11 or 12 years for him. Either way, it's still impossible to travel 40 light years in 40 years, the traveler will experience less time and the observer will experience more time passing. Because time dilation affects both the traveler and the observers. I don't understand the calculations because I'm not a scientist but given I got the calculations from a scholarly article from an actual one, I'm inclined to default to her calculations and can't argue with them
@everydaycommentator6036
@everydaycommentator6036 Ай бұрын
It's still not right. If Borris took 40k years to travel 40 light years, then his speed would not be 99.9% the speed of light. It would be 40*100/40k i.e. 0.1% the speed of light (approx 300 km/s) at which speed time dilation would not be that much. What you're trying to say is if Borris is travelling at 99.9% the speed of light for 40 years in his perspective, then 40k years would pass in the rest of the universe. I don't think ratio is 1:1000, but basically more than 40 years would pass in the rest of the universe. But travelling at 99.9 % the speed of light for 40 years from the traveller's perspective, he would be travelling 39.96 light years in his perspective but that distance is shrunk space and he would be able to cover a distance larger than 40 light years.
@everydaycommentator6036
@everydaycommentator6036 Ай бұрын
What I'm trying to say is let's say that distance to his planet is not 20 light years, but let's say 19.9 light years, then boris can travel at 99.5 % the speed of light for 20 years in our perspective to cover this distance. In Boris' perspective it is a much shorter time. He travelled 19.9 light years in our perspective but in Boris perspective the space appears to be shrunk and he travelled a shorter distance in his perspective.

My understanding is that Earth is somewhat special in the Universe as K originally put it in the first movie that Aliens came and made Earth an A-Political/Neutral Zone for alien refugees and beings without a home. This action however would be meaningless unless Earth had the power to enforce its Neutrality and not get bullied by the more aggressive aliens out there. Think of Earth as a big National Park with some badass Game Wardens. It is clear throughout all the movies too that various Alien species and cosmic beings provided MIB/Earth with technology, weapons, defenses, alliances, and general knowledge. I would wager this makes Earth's actual Authorities, MIB, quite influential and their reach in the Universe pretty vast considering the connections their visitors and "donors" have. If someone figured out how to time travel, it wouldnt be hard for MIB to explain exactly why it would be disastrous and unpredictable should anyone use it. I imagine that most sentient races would find time travel dangerous once they knew of its discovery regardless of whether they liked Earth or not so not much convincing would be required to make it illegal since it wouldnt have been in their hands anyways.

Question. How is J still in the MiB if K never recruited him? This movie makes the entire reason J made it through the process was because K respected his father and watched out for J, and in MiB 1 the only reason J was picked was because K wanted him to be picked.
@orioledtd

No. In the future where K was dead over 40 years, J was an agent. Which means he became an agent somehow in that timeline. K wasn’t greasing the wheels in the tests in MIB1 either, J passed all the tests…Zed just didn’t like his attitude.
@irontemplar6222
@irontemplar6222 11 ай бұрын
Not true. K, agreed to look after J since he was responsible for his fathers death. However he only recruited J because of his encouter with an alien, and after checking up on him once more he realized the kid had a good apptitude for being an agent so he recommended him for recruitment. That said MIB does look for new agents among the various agencies of the US the best of the best. As such its likely he would have joined up anyway simply because he had a good aptitude for it... and because he is in the HQ's back yard.

4:15 Real question is, what does that mean for me? Been craving that stuff from a young age. But joke aside there is a creepy bit. When I was about thirteen, I was sitting on my bed in my room when I heard someone walking down the upstairs hallway outside of my room. Looked out the door to see a large bearded guy with a flannel hooded jacket standing there looking dumbstruck. They disappeared when I blinked in shock. Fast forward to the lockdowns. I am heading down the upstairs hallway, day 5 of no sleep because of insomnia caused by my sleep apnea being worsened by covid. Noticed the hallway looked different, like how it did before the renovations, but didn’t think much of it. I got to my bedroom door and saw myself, but younger, sitting on the bed. When I blinked, he did, and I felt what felt like a sensation of falling a foot, before slamming down onto the floor in my doorway, the hallway back to normal. It had dawned on me that I was the guy I saw in my doorway, same outfit and all, but I am still not sure how the hell it happened.

By his father, because in this timeline J's father lives and maybe he witnessed K's death at the hands of Boris, so he brought J to the MIB headquaters to protect the planet from aliens. J's fate was allways written on the MIB, no matter if the past is changed.

It's explained in the movie that the boglodite planet is 20 years away. So Boris travelled 20 years to his planet and then brought them back taking another 20 years. So it's roughly 40 years.

About "modern" movies: entire tick idea is to show women that you can slap around man with no consequences - for now, because its about to change along with our culture - women will get whet they want: equality. To those who think: this is good way to antagonistę women/men against themselves (and that is best way to destroy families = nation) under cover of humor and entertainment. In star wars they made similar scene, and it made no sense there too - suddenly women with no leadership attributes are in charge, and slapping man around (try imagining men are leading this way). Smith who plays (and only plays) tough guys must get so pissed that he cheap slapped Chris Rock because he did not like his joke..... this is only going worse, so better prepare yourself. I stopped going to movies that are not reviewed by non-main-stream critics before (there are many: nerdoradic, critical drinker nad so on), because I have no intention of financing this. Fortunately I think people started to feel this (because I doubt they use intelekt instead of feeling)
