Hello everyone and welcome to another video from Heavy Mining Equipment. While I was traveling, I accidentally saw these old beauties that have been standing by the road for years, capturing the attention of drivers. I inquired around a bit and found out that these old Terex and Caterpillar wheel loaders used to work in the mine where I currently work. I couldn't believe it, what a coincidence. I'll let you enjoy these old beauties.

Love that old school CAT 992s shuttle shifter with a twist for the 3 gears and two lever systems for the front bucket. What always was strange to me in the same time period for CAT equipment. You go get on a track loader and you had two levers for the front bucket but on the track loader the bucket dump lever was pulled back for the dump. The wheel loader was the push forward to dump, just never understood the design by CAT on that control pattern But when you look at so many excavators at the same time. Man all manufacturers made different control patterns on levers and FOOT pedals. Even the difference between JD control and the CAT control Nowadays you switch a lever on the side panel and you switch control patterns between both of them.

I drove Euc's like these back when i was a teen in thec70's. I worked for CJ Langenfelder. The trucks were powered by 12V71 detriots. Very crude vehicles compared to todays standards. No cab insulation thus extremely loud. When you would dump the bed the exhaust would un coup.e and the 12V was straight pipe exhaust right behind the cab. Of course no a/c or heat. I graduated to Cat trucks. Cats were much better thought out machines but the Euc's would run curcles around the Cats. My ears ring today because of those Euc trucks.

Those look like Euclid 35 ton off highway dump trucks with DD V12-71 engines, around 470 HP; the Cat 992 B looks in great shape, the tires look very good a lot of tread remaining, it has the Cat D348 V12 diesel engine, around 550 HP; back when Cat made them a little heavier than today. I wonder who owns all of this and why are they standing there, are they abandoned? This is a good video, thanks Heavy Mining Equipment.
