Love how much effort you put into your videos! You type all the phrases in Korean, then type how to pronounce them in English (Latin) letters, and then show the English translation. I think that is the best way to help Korean learners learn things quickly because you can read, listen, and understand at the same time. Can't wait for the next video! 감사합니다!

가르쳐 주시는 표현들도 재미있지만, 선생님 비디오 정말 센스 있게 만드시는 것 같아요! 영상편집 1도 모르는 영알못이라 부럽구요 ㅎㅎㅎ

According to the Oxford dictionary, to be on pins and needles means "to be nervously waiting to find out what is going to happen". Does 가시방석에 앉다 really have the same meaning or does it simply mean to be uncomfortable?

Right. Being on pins and needles can be good and bad. To me the Korean expression translates better to "A pain in the butt".

The Korean expression is only used to describe awkward and uncomfortable feeling or situations. 🙂

On pins and needless 가 어떻게 불편하다로 쓰이는지 알려주실수 있나요 핀 위에 있어서 그런 느낌은 알겠는데 Needless는 여기서 어떤 의미로 쓰인건가요

저도 영어 원어민이 아니라서 답변 드리기 좀 조심스럽지만, 제가 콘텐츠 기획하면서 자료 조사한 바에 따르면 "Be on pins and needles"가 통째로 쓰이는 하나의 관용 표현이라고 합니다. Needle이 바늘이니까 우리말의 가시방석과 딱 비슷한 표현인 것 같아요 :) 참고로 옥스포드 관용표현 사전에 의하면 사전적 정의는 다음과 같습니다. If you are on pins and needles, you are very anxious or nervous about something that is going to happen. (Pins and needles 하다는 것은 어떤 일이 일어날까 불안하고 초조하다는 뜻이다) 그리고 그냥 pins and needles라고 하면은 팔다리가 저릿저릿한 느낌이라고 합니다. 유튜브에 검색하시면 의학 관련 영상 많이 찾아보실 수 있을 거예요😁

@@minjiteacheskorean 친절한 답변 정말 감사드립니다 아....제가 봤던 책에서는 needless라고 적혀있어서 저도 모르게 계속 needless라고 읽으면서 필요없는이라는 뜻이 대체 저기 왜 들어가 있을까 싶었는데 Needles 바늘이었군요 ㅜ 그럼 바로 느낌이 잡혔을텐데 ㅜ (그 책이 오타였네요 ㅜㅠ) 그치만 민지님 덕에 더 자세히 알수있었어요 감사합니다~!!
