▪️ The underscore sign ( _ ) is called '언더바' or '밑줄' in Korean. ▪️ '밑줄' literally means underline. ✏️ ▪️ The at sign ( @ ) is '골뱅이', which actually means sea snails! 🐌 ▪️ The dot sign ( . ) is '점', but it's pronounced as '쩜'. 🔵 💡 Why not try expressing your email address or Instagram account in Korean?

▪️ Instead of translating English into Korean literally, try using native-like expressions! ▪️ 저의 사진 (picture of me) ➡️사진 ▪️ 찍을 수 있어요? (Can you take it?) ➡️찍어 주시겠어요? (Could you take it?) ➡️찍어 주실 수 있으세요? (Could you please take it for me?) ▪️ When counting things, the order is different from English! Instead of saying ”one more picture,“ we say ”number + unit + more.“ ➡️한 (one) 장 (unit for counting thin objects like paper) 더 (more) ▪️ To Korean people, ”한 장“ does not always mean just one picture.😂😂😂

something i dont understand: How do you know when a subject marker emphasizes subject, if you always need to have it there anyway? Or have i misunderstood, do not all sentences need a subject marker?
@straycoral
@straycoral 15 күн бұрын
If I've understood, a subject marker doesn't need to be always used. It's used for: 1. Observations/descriptions 2.When the subject matters more than the action. For example, if you ask "*Who* did it?" you'll answer by putting 이/가 after the subject to emphasize it. On the other hand, if you ask "*What* did they do?" Then you'll answer by putting 은/는 after the subject to emphasize the action they did.

ㅌ and ㄸ are okey. As for ㄷ it is difficult. It applies to ㅂ and ㄱ as well. I think all three of them pronounced by using upper part of the mouth.
