I was warned about this road in Zambia!

For The Love Of Wheels

Жыл бұрын

I had just entered Zambia from Namibia and had spend the night in a small campground right on the Zambezi river in the border town Sesheke.
I was about to take on possibly the worst road in Africa, the M10 from Sesheke to Kazungula. People had warned me about it - but I get so many warnings all the time, and often I end up thinking "Ah, was that it". But this one was different! It actually lived up to its reputation.
In this video you will also see how I behave when I think I am meeting dishonest police officers. In this situation I chose to be a bit b*itchy. Just me trying to survive travelling alone. Still don't know if the council levy is supposed to be paid for motorcycles or not.
No matter, the officers were actually very nice.
Enjoy the ride!

Shut up and stop disparaging your own country to make good with foreigners. When her relatives were running Zambia, things were 100 times worse, and you and every black person was not a citizen of the country. We do not go to her country; we do not judge her country. If she comes ours, she needs to be respectful and obedient of the law and our officials.

Hi I’ve lived in Zambia for a year with many of my college mates for an internship program. As much as I liked living there, I find it appalling that my foreign looking friends including I gets stopped many times by a police officer when I sit on the front seat. (In Lusaka, the town part). So I started having a local friend to drive and there was no one to stop us at all. I had told this to my local friends and their response was “they have to find other ways to get money because the gov doesn’t pay them well” :/ we were just students, we had no extra cash to give 😢 it was kinda hard for us to have a positive attitude, but we tried. And I see this video, I was inspired by how patient and joyful you are in every situation. May God bless!

The problem is us human beings we accept everything without questioning, today. 'Why are you injecting me'? 'why am I paying for on a hellrun?' 'what am I paying for in a dirty toilet without even sanitizers?'

Good.The positive thing regarding this video is that it's a marketing vehicle to our lovely big country.As long as we want Zambia developed, let's have external analysts give us their views.We turn weak points into strengths as a developing country.Ee are Zambians and we love our country.

The guys on the check point as you were leaving Sesheke are not police officers but council/municipality workers. We all pay council levy but a motor bike is too small to pay. Am so sorry about our bad roads and I hope by the time you visit again it's gonna be a different story.

Greetings. You have a amazing channel and as a Zambian I'm disappointed u experienced that level of corruption when you was stopped to pay some sort of council fee for your motorbike. You handled that well n your welcome to report it to RSTA. Only a official toll gate will charge u a fee.

Thanks a lot Isaac. I am ok with this experience. They never asked for any money from me. Do you know if motorcycles are supposed to pay the council fee? Or is it only cars?
@isaac-mambo

@@ForTheLoveOfWheels You don't pay any fees to any local council for road tax. Only to RSTA which u paid to use your bike on public roads when you entered our borders.You may have to pay a toll fee at a official tall gate, stay safe and enjoy what our country has to offer.

@@ForTheLoveOfWheels it's unfortunate but a normal thing for African governments to ignore citizens basic needs. They collect the money for roads yet they don't maintain them. Those 50 kwacha paid for the council they still fail to make sure the road is maintained... just that. Shocking and this has been more than 5 years
