Squidward really doesn’t, he’s a blatantly miserable character during the good course of SpongeBob. A lot of what he’s done in anger of SpongeBob was not well called for.

Jeez. It's no wonder why the show sucks so bad. It uses the plots of episodes that didn't even meet MODERN SpongeBob's standards.

The show's decline was gradually. It did not just suddenly get bad in Season 4. I enjoy Seasons 4 and 5 just as much as 1-3. Season 6 is where it became more noticeable but I think it truly lost it's touch in Season 10 when they began being more wacky. So I'm not one of those fans that say only Seasons 1-3 are great. When I was first watching SpongeBob Seasons 5 and 6 were literally brand new.

@@nolife6013it already starting falling off at season 4 where it became more hit or miss, season 5 was mostly just boring but had a couple of good episodes still and then around 6-8 it was unwatchable most of the time, around 9-10 it got slightly better and season 11 was about the same as season 4 being very hit or miss and after that it was mostly brain dead and boring like season 5

@@nolife6013tbh the first movie was lowkey a sign of things to come. SpongeBobs personality is closer to modern sponge than classic, loud and screechy and over the top goofy. Still fun though I guess though I never liked the movie as a kid

honestly i was bouncing around this idea in my head bc i remember always liking the more positive interactions between spongebob and plankton. (like in F.U.N. and that one movie/special whatever it was tho i barely remember that) ALSO like, we kinda do get a glimpse of a successful chum bucket in that one episode, forgot the name but the one where plankton gets squidward to work at the chum bucket instead of the krusty krab (though from what i remember squidwards mom came and ruined it so-)

While I don’t think most of those episodes are premovie level I like them all. Krusty Towers is probably the only post movie episode on par with the golden age in forms of comedy. Spy Buddies is one of my favorite post movie episodes as well but I will say it definitely feels like a post movie episode. Roller Cowards, Have You Seen This Snail and Krusty Towers all have very strong stories but none of them feels close to premovie in my opinion.
