The loss of range of motion during fatigue is Sam's patented move. I don't know about the science but I will say I noticed a substantial jump in feeling of tension, growth, and muscle pump doing these last few half reps at the end instead of just stopping. For what it's worth it felt fantastic compared to standard set
@odablast14 ай бұрын
That’s the pump but not doing full range can limit sets in the future as you get older since flexibility of muscles is very important when you age 😊
@ragunamist6774 ай бұрын
I’d rather have full range of motion then be bulky with no actual strength.
@funcat35604 ай бұрын
Are the last few reps particularly painful, does getting them done feel like it reduces stress? (Not physical stress, but brain stress.)
@spartancoyote1224 ай бұрын
have you tried just doing full range motion for all your reps and you notice more of a difference when you go I cant get this last 2 reps take 2 sec to rest and do the full range of motion hate to break it to you its your mindset if you don't think you can do the last 2 reps then you're just using that excess instead of working harder wow congrats bro

"most people would run into recovery time issues" It's almost as if he's on illegal substances 😮
@GatoSander04 ай бұрын
sure but most bodybuilders, even enhanced ones train close to failure, rather than to failure all the fucking time they are more likely to get injured even if they recover their muscles faster also the current body of research shows that training close to failure is better for hypertrophy than to failure also enhanced athletes can get more muscular with less volume and intensity, Sam just likes that shit and I mean considering sam's diet, training schedule and overall recovery, even if he is enhanced it's surprising he hasn't run into more issues
@Jont3k4 ай бұрын
He's pretty young so I'm guessing shit will catch up to him later
@raymondbaker9874 ай бұрын
Training to failure in it of itself isn't bad. The injury risk comes from high levels of fatigue while training. A lot of people can surprisingly and consistently train to failure if recovery is on point
@qthirteen134 ай бұрын
I don’t get why illegal substance use is an issue… it still takes a ton of hard work whether you use substances or not 🤷🏽♂️ The only reason I can think of to care is … in his 80s the substances might lead to bad health and he won’t be able to keep up with what he’s currently doing and will lose mass anyways.🤷🏽♂️

To be frank, I think this is the easiest way to fool yourself with “holy math”. Jeff’s idea is good in terms of content creation, but it is really a futile exercise, most likely inaccurate in terms of results and input data. Let’s not even take into account the short time span he based the research on. Finally, whatever the conclusion is, other than a nice pie chart, it is totally irrelevant if you don’t gear up.
