The funniest part is that Ben Shapiro said in an interview that he wanted to try and enter a women's league by pretending to be trans but they didn't let him because he was obviously not trans

@doperagu8471
@doperagu8471 7 ай бұрын
That's not entirely true. He said they wanted to make a documentary about how "easy" it would be to get "men" into women's sports... but then realized they couldn't find any men that wanted to undergo the necessary requirements to be a trans woman in sports (i.e. take hormones and actually go through some form of medical transition). So essentially, he proved his own premise wrong- they couldn't find a man willing to transition only to compete in and "dominate" women's sports... because it doesn't happen.

I think the scene that stood out to me most was the daughter mentioning she wanted to transition so she could be as good as a man, seeming referring to playing basketball which her father and male friends had been “excelling” at. Instead of explaining that anyone can play and succeed in basketball, he states that his middle school daughter would be better at something else like nurturing because she is a female. Some awful moments in the movie but this especially stood out to me because you can’t even try to frame it as ironic or a “dark triggering joke,” it was a scene attempting to reflect their actual views.

well, thats just the thing, right? they make up scenarios like this where in their head allowing trans competitors will somehow invariably lead to a 250 pound strongman in a wig obliterating a tiny frail woman 100 out of the 100 times, whilst ignoring the fact that a matchup of two cis women with those builds could already happen if it werent for the formats that are already used all the time. they dont think if we stop that from happening already, we wouldn't just be able to... do the same thing? because the existence of trans competitors barely changes much in terms of that? but no, in their mind, its always that doing this one innocuous thing the libs want would somehow cause a completely irrelevant aspect to also change and get worse, and that proves why the first thing is a bad idea.

I had no clue it was by Daily Wire at the time, but once I got to set and saw bearded guys dressed as women dunking on female atheletes, I instantly knew I was about to be an extra in a transphobic movie and that I wasn't going to show up to future shooting days. The casting call was sent out to local college students as a "sports comedy;" they knew no one would show up if they said it was a Daily Wire movie. I watched the episode of a podcast called The Downside awhile ago where they covered the movie, and one of the points I think they were spot on about was that its not triggering; any episode of South Park is more triggering than this because none of the stuff we're supposed to get upset at are remotely true to life. Like, if I made a comedy based on the notion that conservatives are incapable on not eating toenail clippings, it would probably neither offend conservatives nor be particularly funny.

Thank you for your service and sacrifice. o7 Also I really don't understand the completely random jabs at Native Americans -- like, tf do they have to do w/ Trans athletes, or being weird news-casters? Did they just go "Oh, well, we can't have the entire movie be solely about Trans people, throw the natives in there too."

It's probably because they tried their hardest to be "the most triggering film of the year", on purpose trying to punch down to as many groups as possible. I assume so they can claim that people only dislike the movie because they were "triggered" and not because the daily wire and everyone in it cannot for the life of them make a good piece of media in any aspect. They'd prefer to be as bigoted as possible than admit they just can't act/write/film/etc
