So interesting to hear all these different stories. Some people just seem to thrive on the environment in jail and blend into it easily. Also seems like some people miss it which makes total sense to miss something that has been such a big part of your life but hard to fathom missing a place like prison as someone that has never been incarcerated.

When Colin talked about his dad passing away when he got home hit me man. My father passed away 2 weeks after I was locked up. Then my step father passed away 2 months after I got to prison. This guy is probably the most genuine guy you have had that I've watched. He's like "I was an idiot and I did stupid shit", don't be me". He's also the first guy I've heard admit that he sucked at crime and made exactly no excuses. I work in our local county jail and probably the vast majority of the inmates I talk to are just people who have substance abuse issues, and then it's people who just don't take care of shit-didn't pay a traffic ticket, blew off going to court, didn't pay the child support, whatever.

My stepfather treated me differently than my brother, and I felt it since I was 6. So as a grew older, I got angrier and more disinterested in making him happy. I ended up criminal and doing lots of time in different states and counties. I throw the finger at his morals because his morals were not present while being a drunk asshole dad. So in my mind it's fuck you. Fast forward, I have my 9wn company, a son, and I'm killing it financially, and as a dad. He starts to realize he may have been wrong and seen me doing well finally. He may have been a cause. Then he gets cancer and 2 weeks later he dies and that starts a whole series of deaths of men in my family. I have 2 cousins and 2 uncles left. A couple best friends too. So it's easy hate someone. It's draining but easy. It's hard to lice the person you used to hate that you never got to say that to. So my son is seeing a person who is everything I can be for him but he has no clue why. SECOND CHANCES

Even tho he's not from Pittsburgh, big respect for the Homestead Grays hat💯👊🏽 They were a Negro League team out of historic Homestead, PA, an historic steel town in Pittsburgh, that disbanded in 1950. They played played at the also historic Forbes field in Oakland which is now home to Pitt and Carnegie Mellon Universities. You can still see the furthest point of the outfield wall of 457ft on Roberto Clemente Drive, which borders Mazeroski Field, a softball and youth baseball field. Forbes field hosted four of the Pirates world series, Mazeroski's famous game 7 ninth inning world series winning homerun, Babe Ruths last three homers, the Steelers and Pitt Panthers football teams and also political rallies and boxing matches. It was torn down in 71 after all major sporting events(minus of course the Pittsburgh Penguins Hockey games) were moved to Three Rivers Stadium. He could've chose his closer-to-home team The Philadelphia Phillies(what a great name🙄) but he didn't and that's pretty dope.

Man the speed he talks at with the questions Ian ask make this extremely hard to follow or understand. No clue the timeline or at what point in the story these events were happening. Basically if you’ve never been to prison then this is gonna make almost no sense outside of the independent events he describes. Honestly made it not a very good listen. Didn’t finish, had to switch. Ian will get better at interviewing with time. He used his marketing/entertainment skills to create an great idea for a channel. There’s plenty of other convict channels but not ones that interview and interact with other convicts like him so kudos and hope it continues to prosper brotha!

It's crazy to think about how state police in some states do things other than traffic stuff. In my area, the state police were chasing an armed & dangerous suspect, who fled into a building. The state police had to call local PD to clear the building, because they don't have the training to do that sort of thing. One of the cops who got called for that told me they're LITERALLY just traffic cops and it's pretty normal for them to have to call for assistance.
