Congrats on the 10K Caleb! Also is there a certain time or day you find you write the best or write the most. I personally like writing at night bc that's when I'm the most creative and the ideas are flowing. I still have not written a single word but I'm hoping to write something later today and I'm hoping to hit 10k by Tuesday. I've decided to start writing the end first bc I have a clear picture on the ending and starting projects have always been hard for me. Hope the rest of your NaNoWriMo treats you well!

You are SMASHING this! I think I burnt myself out when I was working as a ghostwriter. I was on deadline and had to write 20k words in 20 days, for 3 x 80k word novels. I had to take some time off for mental health (ironic considering the next part gave me a breakdown). I fumbled my deadline and ended up having to write 17,600 words within 24 hours 💀

King of NaNoWriMo FR!!! 10k in one day is crazy, I think the most I've written in a day is like a little over 6,000? I'm currently at 30,000, I missed a day of writing my story this weekend when I was trying to finish up an essay for uni, so that was unfortunate. I really want to get to 40,000 by the end of the week, but my courses are kind of kicking my butt right now, so who knows. My story is about this group of friends that grow up together in this creepy old boarding school, and I never really wrote an outline for it, mainly just a bunch of random plot points and I made an extensive Pinterest board for all the characters, so I'm kind of just going off of vibes, but honestly I'm finding it really fun because it feels like there's so much freedom in it, and I can just let the story take a hold of me instead of trying to write things a specific way. Anyways, congrats on 10k! I love these updates so much!!

I crossed 25K today so I'm slightly ahead and as a FT student and four weeks out of a competition, I'm satisfied with that, for sure.

Damn, idk how you can do that much. The most I’ve ever gotten in a day is like around 4-5k and that was after spending 10 hours writing lol

Congrats on being about to finish, Caleb! Wishing you all the fruitful luck with finishing today/tomorrow! My sleep schedule has been completely turned upside down, so any writing that’s been getting done (not much unfortunately lol) is between 2am - 6am. Luckily, it just so happens that the story I’m trying to do takes places over the course of one chaotic nighttime adventure. So being in an after-dark setting irl has been helpful I think to get the right mood and vibes for the scenes ! That’s my little update. I’m curious to know what you’ll be doing for the rest of NaNoWriMo!

I have a fulltime job so I couldn't participate in your 10k in two days but I might try it one weekend and see. I'm at 32k words which is more than I've ever written in a single month so whatever happens I'm very proud of myself for that.

May I ask whether you are ghostwriting for a client, or are you writing your own play or novel? If the latter, are you setting yourself daily targets to avoid procrastination or do you have some kind of publisher deadline for submission of a first draft? Many thanks.

I wrote 40,000 in October. And so far, 4th in November 😅 the issue is that I'm a pantser and whilst writing my novel, I came up with more and more ideas for the next part in the series.. And for some reason became obsessed with writing scenes for book two, when book one is not even halfway finished. So now I'm at 15k in book two, which doesn't count towards my nano goal oops😅

My NaNo is about a pirate abduction too!
