This is what a dad is. He loves his sons so much more than he loves himself. I wish I had a dad when I was growing up. My eyes were tearing at how he expressed the love he has for Ian.

Dude your dad is fucking incredible. The “she said I had a character flaw” and his little giggle, when he said “my family is everything”you felt it in your soul and felt that he means it. What a beautiful human he is. I just found you today and I started with Marcie I think was her name, then I went to the very beginning and I’m going to watch them all.❤

Great interview. I used to go go your shows at tuxedo me and my friends would drive from Boston when we were like 17 to see edm shows. I remember towards the end before you went away I would see you at the venue looking pretty stressed and your dad was also there. I always wondered why you looked so nervous and then you went away we couldn’t believe it. Facebook was so split over you. Supporters and haters you’ll always have both. Years ago I was arrested and went to jail multiple times due to my drug addiction. I never even told my parents I was arrested much less in jail until much later. The thought of being arrested and drug out of the house in front of them makes me want to cry and I would never be able to forgive myself.

My parents always received a called from me when I got my phone calls. They visited me one time and they sent me money once. They said we aren't gonna support you for doing wrong. But we will always be there for you if you want to be sober and a year ago I decided to get clean I got through probation for the first time in my life. 3 felonies my last one was probation and I'm slowly getting on my feet.

I really appreciate this interview with your dad, he's a stand up guy and so are you Ian. The fact that you didn't curl up and hide, instead you have come back with so much courage, doing something good, and determined to make restitution. You didn't intend to do anything wrong, and you were punished way too much. You have learned though and matured through this harsh experience. I am also a mother, and would stand by my children no matter what. Thanks Michael and Ian.. Wishing you everything of the best. ❤ Helen Northern Ireland

@@ianbickCT Ian I'm 52 and raised 3 amazing boys, and have 4 granddaughters,I raised them against drugs etc I became a mom at 16 but when that happened I buckled up and dedicated my life to being there Mom,Then at age 40 they were raised and I thought i would go into the world and "Experience Life" I thought i was fine,I'm 40 years old and could handle myself, but oh boy I had another thing coming I met the wrong type of people and was kind and nieve and owned my own car, home etc I stepped into the world of addiction ( Meth) I gave everything of myself to these people that i could tell were broken because my heart was big and i have always been a nurturing loving person to everyone I know & meet! I had no idea that I was just a come up to all these people,I didn't even know what that meant within 5 years I lost everything my home,my car all my belongings to people that were just using me and as they were living in my home they were robbing me blind,I had never been without anything let a lone a place to live! let me tell you when I had to resort to living in a car none of those people were anywhere to be found nor were my family, old friends or the friends I thought I had made! I was alone on the streets in a car without a clue how to survive out there!45 years old and scared to death,I had found myself out of so many bad relationships, but the last one nearly killed me! But at that point at my lowest of low I only had one person to cry out to,it was GOD I couldn't hear him audibly, but I was lead in his direction with little things and now I am standing tall, have my family back stronger than ever and rebuilding my life, but still having an empty space inside me! Knowing I want to help others, but not knowing where to start or what my exact purpose is! I have charges that I want to get exponged, but haven't got that yet and even though I went 40 plus years without ever getting even a driving ticket to now feeling like it's holding me back! Anyway after watching you and others I know there is a way,I just wanted to let you know you are making a difference! love from Oregon

I really enjoyed this episode. Your blessed to have an amazing father. I’m genuinely proud of how your doing now. And have turned your life around by doing something you love doing. The quote where mark Cuban said “I’d rather work 40 hours a week for my self and make 50k a year compared to working the same amount of hours but working for somebody else and making 700k a year” to me that’s bs because I would work at that job 5 years max and save as much as I could then go venture out and start businesses with a couple million dollars in the bank just as a safety net and more financial stability.
