This guy is a real musician with genuine passion for the art of music. He doesn’t care about the superficial side of the business . He just keeps playing , creating and mesmerizing those of us who have an appreciation for the deeper side of music. What a gem that I doubt the masses will ever understand.

Had the pleasure of meeting Randy Cooke, he held a clinic at a music store I once worked at, such a down to earth guy and a truly musical soul. This performance shows the depth of his musicality and a huge reason why a genius like Ian Thornley would hire him. Shameful that Ian has not become a household name. This is just a brilliant track and even better performance.

A musical Genius. Ian sure knows how to paint a picture with his music. I’m officially going to say it, “ Ian Thornley is the most talented and gifted musician to come along in the past 2 decades! “ I myself as a guitarist am just blown away and lost for words by his musical greatness.” After Stevie Ray Vaughan’s Passing I never thought I’d ever have a guitar hero that I would look up to again and get to witness playing live. This guy has changed the way I pick up my guitar these days... thank you Ian. Cheers!

His voice sounds a lot like Sting to me - but better (and I'm a big Sting fan).. and those great guitar arpeggios are reminiscent of Andy Summers. Strange... I've only just come across him, but he's the best singer and guitarist I've heard in a long while. And his songs are great.... I'm a bit shocked at my own ignorance (although I get depressingly regular reminders of it :-) ) but I'm relieved and happy to have stumbled across a musician and a band as talented as Mr Thornley and Big Wreck.

best guitarist playing these days. I'd love to hear him play with Synyster Gates and Mark Tremonti. that would be epic! Of course Ian would have to sing. would be cool to hear him sing with Myles Kenedy too. but of course, Ian is the best at both, so ... been a fan since 97 so whatever he does just gets better and better, and he was amazing to start with, so yeah I ramble and turn all fanboy with big wreck and Ian in general. My one-and-a-half year old daughter calls this version of the song "The Drum Song" and it's been her clear favorite song for about the last month. Thornley and Big Wreck should offer Randy Cooke some serious money to come on tour with them - his work here is so hypnotic and light years better and more engaging than any other drummer I've seen with Big Wreck. As an aside: my daughter started listening to "Ghosts" and "The Oaf" from the 2015 show when she was about 6 months old (mostly my doing at that point in time - it calmed her down and got her to sleep) and she still frequently requests Ghosts.
