I am 61 and the best confidence booster I ever received from a friend 40 years, who was a phenomenal guitar player said this, “ Hey buddy, no one strums an E chord like you, it’s sounds awesome!” I stopped comparing myself right then and there. Being any famous musicians kid, it has to be hard as heck to not compare yourself to your parent. I once met Ben Taylor at a martial arts class believe it or not. Being the son of James Taylor and Carley Simon must be an experience in itself. But especially, like Ben, if you're headed towards playing music. And yes, as you can imagine, it is hard for him when people expect to hear the sounds of either one and you have your own sound. I don't envy Ben, or Ian.
