We had one of these growing up (in the US) in our basement rec room. This brings back memories cleaning the basement for holiday parties and such. I remember thinking it was a little ridiculous at first, but it actually did a nice job. The worst part was cleaning the filter though. I always used the clip for when I coiled up the cord.

I really want to have one of those. Such a cute little cleaner

My grandmother had one of these and before that she had the broomy dirt devil. She was a very houseproud lady.

Shark sells a style similar to that roommate, I think you might like it it is called (Rocket Powerhead) I am not aware of the selling regions for that model but I would be happy to provide a link if you would like to see and possibly purchase the vacuum from Amazon... I believe the sell for less than 200.

That clip on the handle is the quick cord release. You would coil the cord and put the cord in the clip
