I had no idea they launched these outside of the US. After Panasonic exited the floor care industry, Sears (who still owns the Kenmore brand name) inked up a deal with Cleva to produce vacuums for them. Cleva later hired former Panasonic vacuum engineers, hence why the newer models still have some Panasonic-styling to them. I don't know if these Cleva machines still have the same reliability and quality as the "Kenmore-sonics", but it's nice to see the Kenmore brand probably won't die when Sears finally gives up and dies themselves.

Thank you for this eye-opening video Roger! Nice to see that Cleva is selling this design in the UK. It sounds very very quiet! That’s one thing about bagged cleaners: they are almost always quieter than bagless machines that have thin plastic bins (not Filter Queens). The acoustics of bagless cyclonic machines make them much noisier than bagged machines with the sound muffled by the bags and bag enclosures.

We have these in the US branded as the Kenmore Intuition, I do like how its design is keeping bagged vacuums alive in the market while combining the features and design to what Shark and Hoover (US) would offer.

Thanks for the excellent review; it convinced me decide to buy this model. I've been using it for about a year now. It works extremely well, and seems strongly built. It strikes me as a masterpiece of vacuum cleaner design, not least, regarding versatility. It's pretty heavy, but that's the price one pays for sturdy construction. The bags are pricey too, and the longest flexi-hose doesn't extend very far. The lowest, short flexi-hose section, (attached to the wheeled base) gets blocked occasionally, if you aren't careful, but it's fairly easy to unblock, once you realise that it can be unclipped at the top end with the cautious help of a large, blunt, flathead screwdriver or similar. (Nothing needs unscrewing for this operation). I've never once used the inappropriately named "turbo nozzle". I anticipate that the first part to break will be the bag-holding mechanism... but hopefully it will still work without that, if you just press the bag onto the dust outlet. Anyway, this machine has some very cool design features, including headlights and manual suction control. Great value for what I paid (£65, IIRC). It works better than my old Samsung upright, despite being only about half the wattage!

Hello Roger I brought this machine a few months ago and it’s great I got fed up of bag less machines and the mess I really wanted the meila upright but out of my price range and went for this and it’s great only downside is it smells I’ve put fresheners in it but they don’t last long

Smartly designed cleaner with lots of desirable features. I'd prefer if the lower cord hook was located higher up on the machine, but that's not possible with the design of the vacuum. I would definitely go for this bagged cleaner ! Nice price too !

The plastic bagless Vacmaster I own is a whole different vacuum cleaner . It’s shocking how different the two vacuums are . I’m in the USA and somebody gifted me a Vacmaster vacuum 🥰

Ooooh I’m excited now… I haven’t been able to use mine in the kitchen, as it’s impossible for me to push, but thanks to your very informative video, a may be able to if I open the valve first. Why didn’t I think of that?! I’m off to try it now. I hope it works because, other than that, this vacuum cleaner is the best I’ve had in years 😜

Super video. I've just purchased this vacuum cleaner from ebay for £49.99 and wanted to see how good/bad it was. Originally I thought it would just be a temporary vacuum until I had funds for a better one (after Christmas) but it seems to be a great little cleaner, so I'm thinking it may just be a permanent fixture in my house. Thanks so much for the video, it has been very informative. EDIT....After using this vac, on the 3rd use it wasn't working properly anymore. The lights didn't light up and the suction was gone. I decided to check Amazon reviews and found the exact same problem with a lot of their customers. I would not recommend this vac to anyone.

I can only imagine getting a Vacmaster wet/dry accessory set and the tools fit between the two. I'm surprised by the spacing between the bristle tufts, however it worked for Shark, so it seems to work just fine.

I'd been considering one for a while ...when i saw it's currently £49.99 I couldn't resist ...oh there's only £2.50 difference for the pet model as well, the standard is £47.49

It had great reviews in the US. I want one but they're $$$. I've never had anything bad to say about Cleva machines. They make DeWalt shop vacs. I work in construction and we use DeWalt shop vacs (with a bag). They're quiet, excellent filtration, and they take a beating and keep in going.

This machine is perfect for elderly people they should aim it towards them as most of them have Gtech AirRams or other cordless machines, that are useless at dirt pickup. I’ve seen this design before I think Kenwood made one similar about 10 years ago.

Makes you wonder if some of the shark tools would be cross compatible, I remember the Dirt Devil remake of the Electrolux Contour some of the parts were cross compatible at the time. Looks an interesting machine 😮

All they need to do now is bring out a powered lift away version. If they did that I would buy one

Helpful review! It looks like a practical design, and favourably priced... but the bags seem a bit pricey at £3 each, and I wonder how long the bags will be available for. Have you found any cheaper bags that fit this machine?

The similarities to a Shark with these Kenmore/Vacmaster affordable models makes me think that they may outsource them to the same manufacturer (maybe KingClean) that has made many of the Sharks over the years, which would make sense, although I have yet to work on one to confirm my suspicions. They are very different than the Kenmore in-house stuff that we get such as the canisters, the non-lift-away bagged uprights, and the CrossOver line.
