Manipulation of teams in groups happens at every ICC WC as how can India n Pakistan will always be grouped together in every tournament? Also Aust and England too are usually grouped together.

Yes fair point about groups - although isn’t that based on rankings? But the manipulation of the super 8 groups feels like a step too far.

Quite a wide range of teams across our group - our predictions are at the end of the previous episode for a full rundown. I think we were all unanimous on Australia being there, SA and India also popular. NZ, West Indies there too for at least one of us. Who are you feeling most confident about?

I think low scoring games are the worse way to advertise the game of cricket to Americans. Ironically the high Scoring IPL games would’ve probably been better

Yeah it’ll be interesting to see the TV numbers from the US at the end of the tournament. Bowler dominated games can be really fun for purists like us, but you’re probably right that the high scores bring in more casual fans.

@@thetoporderpodcastAmericans didn't like football initially because the scores are low. You think they will like low scoring games? I think it would have been better to promote Cricket in countries like Netherlands, Ireland or Nepal where there is passion among locals for the game. Not the Muricans or the Middle East where the team is filled with only immigrants.

India are under done? Cold? After such a fantastic IPL for almost all the players and specially Infront of Ireland? What are y’all on about? 😂

Haha yes that was a slip of the tongue - the point we were trying to make was more around whether the pitch/conditions would level the playing field, but India did the job very impressively.
