I worked in Cranberry Portage for a bit and the owners of this lodge are great people. Great fishing there and that entire area around The Pas and Flin Flon. Northern Manitoba is where it’s at👍

The only micro barbed hooks I possess are for worm baits except for the ones supplied on lures etc and I squash these down. So long as you keep the line tight the fish can't come off.

Pre cook the bacon 1/2 way through Jay. Then marinate the fish wrapped in bacon in watered down Diana's honey garlic sauce for an hour or two. Excellent!

Our guide pre cooked the bacon so it doesn't take as long to get it crispy. I've been doing it since when shore lunching.

Should've started cooking bacon first and then wrapped it while it was still floppy. And finished it off wrapped around the fish. Just a suggestion for next time. Great content tho. Awesome fish
