Most of us face this confusion of whether to use ice pack or hot pack for pain relief or any injury. This video explains everything about ice therapy and heat therapy.
As a basic rule, icing should be done for any injury in the acute stage that is for first 48 to 72 hours every 3-4 hours.
After 3 days when the inflammation reduces, it becomes chronic and need to be treated with heating 2 to 3 times a day.
Ice pack is used for any acute injury, swelling, inflammation, sports injury,etc
Heat pack is used for muscle stiffness, tightness, soreness, relaxation.
