Even in numetal The late Wayne from static x was so nice I met him in 2010 nicest guy around and Corey Taylor was pretty funny I met him at ozzfest. Nicest people

For us Megadeth fans, for years the only good documentary we had on Megadeth was the Behind The Music segment. This picks up their story in far greater detail and really helps us understand both Dave and the band a lot better. Fantastic job Gibson!

Heartbreaking. I think he’s doing well these days. I think they are a lot closer than they used to be. Deep down they deeply respected each other’s musical output. It would have been impossible for them not to be knowing what it takes to be successful. Nothing was handed to Mustaine. He built Megadeth from nothing. Respect.

I didn't expect this but I was nailed to my chair eyes to the screen start to finish. Haven't happened to me for decades. P.s. For me Dave is the best metal rhythm guitarist ever. There is no other guitarist able to play such complicated riffs while singing. Not even James.

Honestly I felt the same way until I saw videos of David DiSanto playing in Vektor. Very complex and fast riffs whilst singing.
@ThePhilosophersYawn
@ThePhilosophersYawn Жыл бұрын
@@henrywalton5967 Heard 3 live songs out of curiosity. No. No complexity while he is singing. Also not actually singing like Mustaine does (or at least tries to). Mustaine sings on top of complex time signatures without his voice just following/flowing with the guitar but keeping its own time signature or pace. Its very very hard to make your brain work with 2 different time signatures at the same time especially when you add technical complexity to the mix. Not impossible of course, there are street musicians who can play 3 instruments at the same time. But it is very rare. DiSanto plays basic fast riffs (actually easier to sing along) and follows the guitar pace with his voice. Similar to what Mille Petrozza of Kreator does... but even then Petrozza plays some more complex riffs while he sings. No. No-one (in metal) is even close to the level of Mustaine.

1st time I saw Megadeth live I was 19 at Freeman Coliseum here in San Antonio, TX. It was a small venue not many peeps showed up, about 400. The front rows that were normally reserved were empty so I strolled up and got to watch Dave shred at a distance of about 6 feet away. His live solo's changed my life for the better. 🤘🤘

I’m glad Mustaine chose not to talk bad about his former band mates rather than address their conflicts. Those topics have already been broadly answered by Mustaine, and those involved, in other interviews. The series is focused primarily on allowing these guitar players to talk about their life and careers in the context of now, not a full scope biography. All those involved in Megadeth played a part in making the band what it is today.

Right? Though Poland is still on of the best players to ever be in a "thrash metal " band. But Dragons Kiss was my favorite guitar album at the time. Both Becker and Martys solos albums but Dragons Kiss really spoke to me most stylistically he was like the next level of all the phrygian melodic minor type stuff i lived and breathed. And i was saying at the time man if these guys got into a proper top tier thrash band it would be insane, it would change the game immeasurably. Well Megadeth happened to be my favorite all around band at the time so when he joined them i knew it was probably going to be historical foot note in metal.

Rust is the best metal album of all time. Of course, that's just my opinion. It stands the test of time, and will for 30 more years.

@@michals5737 huh? he's one the best to ever do it. one of the most original in the genre of rock/metal by far. the best of the best. in the class of the greatest of the greats. i would base that on Dragons Kiss and Scenes alone. Let alone his work in Megadeth.

@@chickenbeek he has made few brilliant solos on the rust in peace album but thats not enough to call him 'one of the best' he has not done anything relevant after breaking up with megadeth, did not pursue any kind of successful solo career also, his songwriting credits were actually quite low in megadeth

The quality of this video production coupled with Dave's forthright story telling make this a cracking monologue interview. When the camera cuts close in on his face you can see the life Dave lived on every wrinkle.

Okay, okay I like Megadeath a lot I even like Dave and think this interview is awesome. However you never “got” why people hate Dave Mustang. Dudes been know for acting like a dickhead for a lonnnnng time. Looks like he has pulled himself up here and let alot of that go but anyone can at least understand why people hate Dave. Once again not saying I do but I totally understand why people do.

Dave has always been a class act, met him multiple times, he was even gracious enough to sign my guitar after his book signing when all his people were telling me no.

Dave, after all these years, is still my hero because he presents as a man, with his frailty, his flaws, but with a relentless drive to go forward, like pulled by an invisible force. He is a mere man and a legend as well. Long live Dave Mustaine.
