It''s illegal to not have insurance in CT, so for the victim it may be cheaper letting it go than risking official notice. And it sounds like the cammer has insurance, but liability only. Maybe that "classic" car is classic for already being totaled-out.

You could say that the person lied about all of this. They knew it was their fault and they paid, or they swindled this person out of not reporting it because they had no insurance. Or the person did have insurance and they lied

I can't see over my truck so when I get out to get gas, I always lock my doors. Crazy things people do!

Same here. I get out and lock my car and stay aware of my surroundings.

It sucks, but the world ain't perfect, and it means you gotta be a little paranoid when out and about. I always use the window wiper at gas stations to 1.) Clean the windows, obviously, and 2.) Make sure I am able to see what's going on around both sides of the vehicle. But after seeing this clip, I think I'll take a page y'all's playbook and also lock the doors.

Right turn on red must stop, number one; and yield, number two. Running a red light, regardless of whether traffic is blocking your view, is not an innocent mistake, or an "oopsie," as the subtext suggested. Rather, it's both foolish and illegal.

@@neilbradley Calling a red light runner an "insurance scammer" is an "overreaction." They're just a red light runner, trying to get ahead illegally... and wouldn't gain anything in a collision. But red light runners are definitely "idiots." So, I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. Sure, the cammer could have gone up and cut-off and brake-checked the red light runner, in frustration. _That_ would be road rage, which is always an "overreaction." But the cammer was certainly obliged to honk at a red light runner. That would have been a normal response.

I'm happy with the cammer's description. It's a nice change from the cammer acting like an impetulant child or claiming it's an insurance scam as they usually do. That's it. I was responding to that comment, specifically, because you seemed to be confused about the severity of what actually happened. You also threw in the idea of "insurance scams," which has nothing whatsoever to do with this clip, which I've already explained. Furthermore, the idea of a cammer acting like a, *"petulant* child" (notice the spelling) also seems completely off-the-wall. You seem to be trying to use this clip to address things that may or may not have happened, in entirely different situations. There will be plenty of opportunities to rag on other cammers. This cammer doesn't need a medal just because he's not road raging. But the cammer would have a legitimate complaint, because someone just cut him off by running a red light. So, my point is: ginning up totally immaterial hypotheticals, when the situation doesn't even call for it, _doesn't make a whole lot of sense._

Could have possibly been road rage gone wrong? I'm not saying it was, but it looked like the other driver was racing to get around the cammer and realized they were going to fast to stop. 🤷

I used to live up there. People treat that road like a racetrack. I never used the uncontrolled crosswalks, only the one at the light.

If something goes wrong they can sue you. Thats the very first they told us in medical school. Best thing to do is just stand back and send them the video after paramedics get there.

Actually, in No Pay, No Play states, such as NJ, if you don't have insurance, you can't file a property claim against the other person, so it does matter. Of course, in this case, both of these uninsured parties are losers.

The only thing that lends credibility to the ABS issue is that during that era GM did in fact use ABS modules that failed to a state of no brakes at all. They are the reason why ABS systems must now fail to a state of standard brakes. How GM was never forced to recall and replace every ABS system they sold is beyond me.

I wondered that, too. Funny story... about 10 years ago, my GF was living in a small place, so she used to use her backseat in her car as an extra closet. I warned her it was a target... and sure enough, someone broke a window to check it out. They opened up every box to find... glass turkeys. Boxes and boxes of glass turkeys for Thanksgiving. They were so boggled, that they didn't even steal the little stash of money she kept in the car, LOL!
