I clapped when you executed that middle layer stain near perfectly. That machine is impressive. I'm wondering if my Baratza Forte AP is suited for that machine or if I should shoot lower. I like the idea of a double boiler with pid and a rotary pump.
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind comment. The Forte AP is a suitable companion for the Linea Mini.
@kevinpellerin67154 жыл бұрын
I haven't been able to use my Forte to grind fine enough for espresso with either the steel or ceramic burrs. Tried leveling the burrs, my Forte is my pourover coffee grinder now. My Eureka Atom 60mm is great for espresso though.

Would you say the ECM SYNCHRONIKA V2 is a better machine? Analogue PID vs Digital PID
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada4 жыл бұрын
It's very hard to say better or worse. The Synchronika does have better temperature control over both the espresso and steam boiler. The LMLM has a pressurestat to control the steam which in this price range is a little perpexling. The La Marzocco has a saturated group vs the E61 on the ECM which is the main differentiator of the Linea. That and the price is almost double.
@alexanderk.66004 жыл бұрын
iDrinkCoffeeCanada i also can‘t decide between the synchronika and the Linea Mini. Both seem amazing and of course I would be happy with the synchronika but on the other side a la Marzocco for me is the dream I always wanted to have. Such a difficult decision 🙈

Do you think I could use this on a coffee truck to start? I’m trying to stay away from a 220 machine and I really want a La marzocco
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada5 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes, I think that is possible. We have sold this machine for similar uses before. Another option would be the GS/3 which is also 110v and that can be purchased with volumetric dosing which is useful in commercial applications.
@sethgz4205 жыл бұрын
Those are the two I'm looking at. the gs3 is probably the way to go I'm guessing.
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada5 жыл бұрын
The GS3 with the volumetric dosing does make it easier when you get busier because you don't have to worry about turning the machine off when you are steaming or speaking to a customer so I usually recommend that for situations like yours.

For $6000, you too, can bring your milk to temperature 3 seconds faster. Or just buy any of the 10 $3000 models that do the same thing but take a couple more seconds to bring your milk to temp.

I’m trying to decide between this and the jura giga 5. What are the differences in a cafe latte with each? I’ve recently had a latte from this one and it was the best I’ve ever tasted. Thank you.
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada5 жыл бұрын
The experiences are quite different. The Jura machine is designed for convenience but like with almost everything in life you sacrifice quality for convenience. The coffee from a traditional machine like the Linea will be markedly better for both espresso and milk based drinks
@bertraminc94125 жыл бұрын
iDrinkCoffeeCanada This is what I expected. Thank you. I’ll start with the LaMarzocco and use the Giga in my city condo. Thank you again!

What water do you use
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada5 жыл бұрын
We use tap water that is softened and filtered using a Mavea filter. We suggest testing water pre and post filtration to make sure it is within the manufacturers specifications

It is not a saturated group! The GS3 is. Otherwise like your vids! Comparison of mini vs GS3 would be great.
@umue115 жыл бұрын
First, "saturated group" is a marketing term. There is no boiler/group with really zero temperature fluctuation. Second, the Mini group has its boiler built in the group. So even if I haven't measured it, I would say it is as "saturated" as any of the other LM (e.g. GS3) groups, or the Dalla Corte groups, which are built similarily to the Mini one.
@MrHesfordScience4 жыл бұрын
My linea mini espresses much quicker than this, is there a reason for this???
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada4 жыл бұрын
Hi, if you are referring to the speed of the extraction this is directly related to the grind. If your coffee is extracting too quickly make your grind finer to slow it down.

This vs profitec pro 700
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada4 жыл бұрын
Hi, I compared the LMLM to an ECM Synchronika in another comment. The Profitec Pro 700 and the ECM are essentially the same machine, the difference is aesthetic so the same comparison applies
@gigi94674 жыл бұрын
How does this compare to a ecm synchronika?
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada4 жыл бұрын
In terms of features the ECM actually has more. The Synchronika has full digital pid temperature control over both the steam and the coffee boiler whereas the LMLM has an analog control of the coffee boiler and uses a pressurestat for the steam. Both machines have rotary pumps but the ECM includes what you need to plumb it in, for the Linea you have to buy an optional kit to plumb it in and open up the machine. ECM uses the E61 group head and LM has its own. With the Linea Mini you are definitely paying a premium for the La Marzocco brand but they have earned a that reputation. The price is almost double too.

did you just call that a macchiato...
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada4 жыл бұрын
Yes, macchiato means stained or mottled. Latte Machiatto is milk stained with coffee. It is not a common drink in North America but enjoyed in some places in Europe.
@lukesaunders3884 жыл бұрын
Yeah it means to stain the coffee with a small amount of frothy milk.
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada4 жыл бұрын
@@lukesaunders388 an espresso macchiato is an espresso with a small amount of milk foam, in some countries like Spain they call this a cortado. A Latte Macchiato is milk stained with coffee usually presented in a tall glass so you can see the three layers. None of these definitions are set in stone though, there is a lot of variance depending on geography.
@FDothat3 жыл бұрын
@@lukesaunders388 Hey yall, european guy here - i have relatives in italy and we are all into coffee culture - since “Latte“ means milk in italian and "Macchiato" - as already said - says something like "stained", this is just right. Latte macchiato is a drink that mostly consists of milk and has a single, strong shot of espresso in it. Nonetheless, there are many types of coffee drinks and it is pretty easy to get that wrong. e.g. a cappuccino is a single shot of espresso with foamy milk crown on top, whereas a flat white is a double shot with the foam closing with the border of your chosen cup (often served with latte art on top). what you mean is called "Caffé macchiato" in italy. However: you can of course not be completely wrong about a wording that is not really defined - but at least it helps to know what most of the other countries do with their naming schemes for their coffee drinks.
